Re: Week 4: Redskins vs. Buccaneers Gameday Thread
I'm going to wait for the injury report. No way JC was playing this game at 100% health.

Re: Week 4: Redskins vs. Buccaneers Gameday Thread
Got this off wikipedia when I typed in Jason Campbell.
2009 Despite pursuing other quarterbacks in the off season, the Redskins were unable to come to terms with Cutler or Sanchez, and thus opted to start Campbell for the last year of his current contract. Jason Campbell is widely considered to be the worst quarterback in the NFL today, he confirms this on a weekly basis.
Wikipedia nub. Jake Delhomme has being given performances like JC's first half...but with actual consistency... |
Do you really think he can go through his progressions in the 2 1/2 seconds before the pocket breaks down? Plays do need time to develop. We obviously aren't a quick strike kinda team where we can just attack right off the snap and move the ball quickly down the field.
Excellent point which some don't realize. We may have 3-4 receivers on the play and less than 3 seconds to go through a progression. I think sometimes JC gets excited when he does get time because he is not used to it..lmao |

No his ankle is still sprained. On some plays you could see him with a slight hop. This coud have been affecting his play also. Not being able to step into his throws. |
Re: Week 4: Redskins vs. Buccaneers Gameday Thread
2-2 .. bottom line .. 2-2 bottom line

After the game I switched over to see the end of the Ravens-Pats game. It was amazing how much time Brady had against a great D on passing downs. |

Well you have to consider that Brady's awesomeness is a pocket in and of itself. |

Kinda funny how quiet it is here tonight.

It's a harder to win to b*t*h about (a la The Rams) and it's certainly harder then complaining about a loss. |
you're right, we don't run a west coast offense
please educate me further i so dumb
Do you think we really run a true west coast scheme? With Buges and Portis this offense may use the WCO as a prototype but we don't run the ball like a true WCO. But please, since you are so obviously sure of exactly what type of offense ours could be classified as please continue to throw your knowledge upon me. Educate me for once about exactly what the problem is. Because my entire point is that the offense' problems lie beyond poor decision making by JC. Are you saying that the offensive line played like an elite unit and gave JC plenty of time to read progressions and make the good throw? Inform me ;). |

Do we ever do this? I am just asking a question not being a samrt ass at all. Can anyone answer this question and tell me if we have been doing this at all? |

I don't think we are out of the woods yet. God damn have we lowered our expectations so much that just a sqeaker win against a really bad team is cause to bring out the bubbly? That being said, I do like our chances against Dallas now. Romo isn't such the stud without TO. I just hope we can get out of this funk before we play Philly!!!! |

Are you frigging kidding me? When did one win just shut folks up in here? Especially another ugly one such as this. Do you really think we are playing to the best of our capabilty? I mean if everyone was " shiny happy people holding hands", this forum would be boring as hell. |

LOL. Ok. Yes it was. Was one of the TDs from the RZ? I can't remember that. I do think it was stupid to call the same bomb to Moss in the last pick. And throwing into double coverage was dumb dumb dumb. |

Touchdown for me!!!! =) |

I think not. |
Re: Week 4: Redskins vs. Buccaneers Gameday Thread
Let me tell y'all about a little something called Reed "mother effing" Doughty! Yes that's right. I told y'all that he was the cure all to our woes. If we could only clone him and get them in the weight room. If Vinny had only listened to us and gotten Alex Mack we'd be 4-0 right now.
If only LOS didn't have bricks for hands. Y'all know how I feel about ifs and buts. This was a trifecta day. Redskins Win = 1 Tony Stewart Wins = 2 Dallas Loses = 3 I actually wondered why Z didn't put Todd Collins in? A win is a win and I'll take it. I can't wait until tomorrow. In your face Dallas fans! In your face Lil E fans! |

Redskins QB Jason Campbell had almost a perfect passer rating in the third quarter to lead three scoring drives. Washington outscored Tampa Bay 16-0 in the third quarter, but Campbell struggled the rest of the game. Jason Campbell vs. Bucs 3rd Qtr Rest of game Comp-Att 7-9 5-13 Yards 110 60 TD-Int 2-0 0-3 Passer rtg 157.2 13.8 We can rant or defend all we want but the fact remains that he struggled. Its not like this is the Tampa defense of old. take the win and enjoy it for what it is, but im not feeling real comfortable for the rest of the season as long as we keep sliding by these horrid teams and their bottom of the league defenses. And this is another game where we made a first yr QB look good so the defense isnt exactly playing as expected either. |
