Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
I think if anyone really did offer a one, and we didn't do it, Bruce really wouldn't have a job anymore

You'd HOPE, anyway

Go get Greg Robinson. Steal him from the Browns. Seriously.

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
Matt Kalil OT 4th overall pick in 2012 is now available after the Texans cut him, I would cut Flowers and give him a chance to resurrect his career, can’t be worse than Flowers.
|
Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
If Trent sitting for a year and getting nothing back gets Smithers fired, I'd take it. This was originally meant to be tongue in cheek, but I actually could be ok with it. It's embarrassing that we have someone so incompetent that losing our best player to get rid of him sounds remotely reasonable.

I'd cut Flowers and go with 52 players. I really hope he makes me eat so much crow this year. |

I read somewhere that Flowers natural position is guard, and he’s finally able to do it. There was an article somewhere that said he’s look good. It said his problem was teams trying to play him at tackle, and he couldn’t make the adjustment. Not sure how accurate this is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
We're truly going to find out about Flowers ability to play guard on Sun. Start the Eagles d if you have them in fantasy.

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
The guy who needs to be replaced is Christian (LT). He is terrible, with bad foot control and he is the ONLY backup to the 36-year old Penn. If Penn goes down teams are going to eat Christian alive. I’m far more worried about Christian than Flowers.
I guess they don’t care about Christian because Bruce Allen says Trent Williams is coming back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I dunno he looks pretty bad, sometimes watching that left side collapse is heart attack inducing. I could deal with either Flowers being bad or Christian being bad but both of them at the same time is just harrowing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
Not sure how credible this is, but i thought it worth posting:
From Erin Hawksworth on 106.7 the fan on twitter: "That's what I head from a league source a few weeks ago. Basically when the tema found out about Trent's medical scare, Dan Snyder immediately got involved and made sure Trent found the best doctor." |

Is there a fullback on the roster? Seems like they have went the way of the dinosaur. With that leaky line we could use the extra blocker. |

There has to be more to the story. |

Say what you want about DS in terms of business decisions etc, but his actions in taking care of players, charity etc has been pretty consistently solid. He keeps alot of what he does out of the papers on purpose (so do the papers lol). Again I am talking about his actions towards players not rumors. |

Hawk is legit

DHall was the source who also said just a few days ago "Trent has no plans on returning" so....

To clarify, DHall still doesn’t think Trent will report THIS week, but did say he will show ‘sooner rather than later’." Translation: missing game day paychecks changes your mind quickly. Also, given the other news from Hawk about DS getting Trent the best doctors, pretty much shows that this was always about money. |

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
I'm so over TW. It's obvious he ain't getting traded so play or lose your money. He's not giving up his entire salary. If he shows up what point did he prove? You lost money, didn't get traded and you've hurt the team that stood by you when you were smoking weed. I hope they move on from him after this year and draft his replacement.

To use the medical staff as the weapon to bash the team is not cool. Especially from all indications we told him to get it looked at and Dan went as far as getting him the best doctor...That's weak, I know the Skins have a lot of faults but that really bothers me. |

TW comes across as a dumb ass. What are you going to do if you have a lump on your fucking head? Idk about you but I'm going straight to Kaiser. It's not the Redskins responsibility. They gave him an opinion but he needed to take it upon himself. So now he holds the team hostage? He's accomplished absolutely nothing w/ this bs holdout. |

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
Well if true, it obviously will be great news for the offense.
I'm little bit turned off by this whole thing though, there must something more to it than we know. I just hope Williams and Redskins will move forward together for next few years. It's not easy to replace Williams and we already messed up the first time we tried to address it with Christian... |

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
Is it possible that now that the Texans and Patriots are no longer likely landing points that Trent is back tracking... Those were not only likely suitors, they were probably the places he'd be most interested in going to.

Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
What's likely is that he's beginning to back track because he was expecting to be traded earlier but now he knows he has already missed on one game check and hates the idea of missing on another... |

Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
Haha, knew this would tick someone off. I still feel strange about all this, don't know how TW would feel about his future as a Redskin even if he does come back. But if he actually does, we will never know if BA was just stubborn and lucky, or if he also was right all along to not budge an inch. |
Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
If TW starts, I'll bump up the wins projections by 2.
Donald Penn is a great backup. |
Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
With the preferable suitors gone / out, and the likelihood of staying put more clear, it would seem reporting for duty makes the most sense.
Also, I would imagine the pressure from his agent to report back is starting to increase as he very well may be missing out on some commission checks. |
