Knock on wood I don't have it, but I was recently exposed to someone at work so now I'm working from home for a while. Weird times we live in now.

I work from home full time and haven't gone to a bar/restaurant in a couple weeks.

So whatever I have, I got it at church, the gym, or the grocery store.

Working on a COVID, vaccinated, boosted, COVID combo since the beginning of last year if I do have it again.

Both my mom and dad had it a couple weeks ago, Both vaccinated and boosted. Mom got it from a church group which spread around a couple weeks beforehand.

Mom had a bad cold and ran a 101 fever for 3 days. She was sick with cold symptoms like 10 days. Dad had a head cold, no fever, milder.

Both tested positive on rapid and then got the official test.

The vaccine works folks…get boosted if you haven’t.

Does getting COVID again count as a booster? If so, I likely took another booster again.

Well the rona finally got me. Got exposed by a coworker last week, tested negative for several days and thought maybe I was in the clear until it hit me like a ton of bricks this week. The symptoms have been relentless and seem to change daily. Sore throat, headaches, fever, muscle aches, fatigue but can’t sleep for shit which is why I’m writing this at 1am. I’m congested as all hell right now. I’ve had cases of the flu that were more severe but this is still no joke.

Managed to avoid this shit for over 2 years but within 3 months of being back in the office (mostly entirely unnecessarily too) I’ve got it.

Sorry to hear Matty and hope you get better real soon. My best friend and his family also avoided it thus far until taking a trip to Mexico and boom, day after they get home it hits hard. I swear now it's like it is finding all the people that were able to avoid it thus far! Curse the damn people that created this virus and I hope they burn in hell!!!

Geez, sounds like you got hit with all the symptoms.

The fever is the worst part of it imo. Just sucks the energy out of you. And going between sweating profusely to being freezing cold sucks.

Still in recovery mode. Been sleeping a shit ton, feeling much better than last week but still don't feel completely right. Very fatigued. Reminds me of when I had mono back in 6th grade.

So my younger brother and pops were headed to PA for work this weekend. My dad text that my step mom tested positive. They were planning to stop by this weekend. The crux of it is that my family is headed to Vermont for skiing on the 17th and don’t want to jeopardize the trip unnecessarily. Is it irrational for me to say we don’t want them over but would like to see them and maybe meet at a park?

I say you’re entitled to doing what you are comfortable with and most rational people will respect that.

Covid isn’t fun.

Outside, screen porch, etc.

Man I wish I woulda learned to now ski when I was younger. I feel like sometimes I’ve kinda gotten too old to learn it.

COVID will not go away as sadly like cancer and in the flu, it is sadly but truthfully here to stay. Just hope we do not ever have to go into quarantine like in 2020-2021.

I'd say there is a ton of prodigal son guilt going on here too.

Chico,

That is what I was thinking. Also it is never to late to learn! I picked up snowboarding at 31. I say go for it.

Speaking of Covid, any of y'all had a booster recently?

I had Covid, got the vaccine, then got a booster. But time goes so fast, that booster was at least 1.5 years ago.

Just saw a commercial about getting a booster. I don't think I'm gonna get another one, at least this year.

I was starting to think I was immune from it, 3 years later and I finally got it. Feeling like shit atm, drowsy/lacking energy. Sore throat, nose stopped up, lost my voice and food tastes a little different now. I'm x2 boosted but my last booster was a year ago. Feels like a stronger flu. I'm sure it'll pass though.

If I missed it sorry but are you sure it's covid? Unless tested it's really hard to tell.

Speaking of shingles, I need to get the chicken pox vaccination. I never got chicken pox.

It's so weird how shots make your arm hurt. I get initially, but interesting that it can last for a week.

Got both done last Sat and in the same arm. Small fever after but not too bad , the surprise was the bruise and soreness of my arm. They told me to keep moving the arm and shoulder area. As of today Friday12/8 it's almost all gone but the soreness is still there but very light.

Yeah I tested twice to make sure lol. Both tests were positive.

Thanks G1.

Still feeling it today. My tastebuds are all but gone, had some hamburger helper for dinner and it tasted like unseasoned beef and pasta haha. Feeling a little better today but its been a lousy couple days, loss of appetite, feeling lethargic every day, got that heavy cotton mouth and chapped lips for whatever reason. Hopefully it will pass quick.

Losing your taste would be the worst part and would also be just weird. I hope those come back asap for you.

Had the covid and flu shot this past Friday, woke up Sat morning around 2am with a fever, splitting headache, body aches, etc. Spent most of Sat and Sun in bed. Brutal. Seriously thinking about skipping future covid shots. Never had a reaction to a flu shot so I know it wasn't that.

Started getting yearly flu shot around 10 years ago…never had a reaction. Not the slightest

My guess it was the Covid. I’ve know several people to have bad, sick in bed reactions.

Honestly I got the 2 Johnson and Johnson shots for Covid when it came out, I haven’t gotten it sent. Also, I had Covid once briefly for a weekend in January of 2021…it wasn’t bad at all. I haven’t gotten it since. But know multiple vax folks who had it 3-4 times

I know one I do every single time I come back to the house from out..Wash hands ( I get made fun of by wife and kids). Any time i used public bathroom, wash hands good. I’m religious about it and think that’s why I’ve gotten lucky

Re: Coronavirus (non political)

I got the Pfizer when it came out, I was going to get the booster right before school started and I got Covid before that happened and never had the covid shot again. I get the flu shot every year and had a mild reaction this year, went home and was really tired and a little cold.

My wife, who works in a school, has never tested positive for covid. It is pretty wild considering our kids have had it twice each, I've had it once and her occupation.

I’ve had Covid twice. In 2020, where I spent a week in hospital and summer of 23, a mild case that time. Don’t care to visit it again.

I had the same reaction to the second covid shot not #3 wasn't too bad and like I said I had the shingles shot at the same time, then a month later the second shingles shot that was fine, no reaction at all.
