Traded back with the Pats and picked up their first and second next year. This would make me eternally hard. Lets say Chicago takes Caleb and the Pats like Maye - we trade back one spot - nobody can move ahead of us and we take JD at 3 and pick up extra draft picks. |

i know folks get worked up about this but JD5 played in the SEC; he was playing legit teams The PAC 12 and ACC its just not the same level JD5 isn't going past pick 3; so trading down and still getting him is a pipe dream but one way to look at it is if you take him at #2 you didn't waste any draft stock trying to reach for #1 |

Traded back again, got Pats second next year and wound up with 8 picks in the top 100 and JD at 7. |

Lol. Please don’t make me research the starting quarterbacks by conference again. Haha. BTW the ACC was 6-4 vs the SEC this year. You are making it seem like the other power 5’s are D-2’s. https://www.sportskeeda.com/college-football/news-sec-record-vs-power-five-conferences-2023-h2h-scores Also I know Mahomes didn’t maybe have the same buzz around him coming out but he did go at 10. Maybe they will find out JD smoked a joint or something and he will fall to us in a trade back. [emoji2371] It certainly feels like those 3 going 1-2-3 but im gonna dream we get our quarterback and pick up extra draft capital until it doesn’t happen. [emoji1696] Here is my keep Sam draft. His film is insane, kid is deadly accurate downfield too. I was all in on Maye but now I’m fine with Jd5.
That’s also if Caleb goes 1 of course Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

He is 6-4 and 210. He surely will bulk up a bit without going full JaMarcus Russell. Lol. |
Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
I will say that JD is growing on me. I have no idea how it will all shake out, but the likelihood of Caleb, Drake and Jayden going 1-2-3 (not necessarily in that order) is pretty high. Could go that way with trades, or no trades... either way I hope we get their #1 target, whoever that may be.

Everyone to themselves on moving on from Williams or Maye. We want Daniels!

Can't even do a real mock draft (if there is such a thing) until after FA anyways. Lots of guys/positions will no longer be needed or as needed by the time the draft rolls around. I hope we can sign at least 1 starting OL and 1 starting secondary player in FA. |

Im pretty much in lockstep with you as far as need. QB OLine That imo is set in stone no matter who else is there. Literally cannot have the QB without the OT/G. After that bpa at lb, corner, or edge. Our D needs a playmaker so bad but it is not as important as keeping our future healthy. I think with our third pick we can get a difference maker anyway. Then TE, more OLine, and basically anything else other than QB. Just BPA. A definite pattern that should be pretty spot on. |

Anyone know if Gabe Taylor (Sean’s brother) declaring for the draft? Would love to draft him.

Not sure. He is a Junior. I cant find him in any mocks. Id draft him just to gift him money and let him follow in older brother’s footsteps even if he didn’t deserve it. |

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
I don't see JD5 dropping that far. As of right now most "experts" have him as a top 3 Prospect in all positions
|
Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
I wonder what the chances are that they don't draft a QB in Round 1 at all. Maybe they aren't all that enamored with the highly regarded prospects, decide to roll with Sam and a Veteran FA, and use that #2 pick to acquire more draft capital. They have been pretty consistent about wanting to build the team through the draft. That could mean drafting a QB at 2, or not.

It would take balls of steel not to take a QB at 2. Personally I hope someone does have balls of steel as I'm not a huge fan of the top 3 QBs. I would trade back, get a top OT and go from there. |

Haven’t even bothered to research next years crop but I can’t imagine they are more highly regarded than these 3. |

So this is just one mock draft board that I filtered quarterbacks on and it is really very early but based on what I am seeing I wouldn’t pass on one of these three. 2. Washington Commanders
Drake Maye, QB, North Carolina Time will tell as to what Washington ultimately does here, but I don't envision them getting cute if they stay and take a QB. The popular pick is LSU's Jayden Daniels. Still, conversations within league circles have reiterated that OC Kliff Kingsbury isn't looking to utilize a QB as a major portion of his run game—thus detaching Washington from Daniels. Maye is immediately the most talented QB Washington has had since taking Robert Griffin III back in 2012. Ryan Fowler |

Ill also say, again, that Jayden Daniels isn’t a run first quarterback. He uses his legs to keep plays alive and is usually looking to throw downfield, and does so accurately. |

To add to your thoughts, he must have missed where ownership have said they’re modeling themselves after the Ravens. Which QB’s game mor resembles Ravens? |
