Re: Redskins Lions postgame
Also: terrible game management at the end of the game, a Shanahan staple. Could have kicked a FG to cut the lead to seven with 2:20 to play, with plenty of time to get the ball back. Instead, ran about six more plays, got down to the five yard line with 1:40 to go, and THEN kicked anyway when the Redskins absolutely needed a TD. Just so stupid. Only thing missing from that sequence was a wasted timeout because we couldn't get a play in in-time.
But if we made a TD in those six plays we would have then only needed a FG to tie the game. Also you have to remember our kicker is also hurt.
maybe thats y we didn't kick it before the 2min warning |
Re: Redskins Lions postgame
I'm disgusted.
It's over and that's my vote. Even with a crap division, we're going to be 0-4 playing an NFC leader Dallas squad coming off our bye. We've been getting worked inside and out by every team this year and even if we get it together later on, having 3-4 losses already is going to be tough to get past. Again, season over. Sucks we have no 1st rounder next year, you're welcome STL. Ugh. This is going be a long, vomitous year. |
problem is WILSON, and the safeties
The problem is the defensive scheme. http://www.csnwashington.com/football-washington-redskins/talk/redskins-do-or-die-single-high Haslett isn't putting his players in a position to succeed. Read the article I posted and listen to what the Lions players had to say. |

Read the article I posted and listen to what the Lions players had to say.
This literally makes me sick to the point of apathy about this team. |
Re: Redskins Lions postgame
The defense played better yesterday than the offense did. They scored 7 points, and had some crucial stops during the game. Again, the offense scored 13 on a pretty average to below average defense at home...and turned the ball over in scoring position. Both sides have plenty of blame but yesterday the offense gets more.

Fred Smoot on radio today bringing the smackdown.
“If you’re going to make a coaching change for the future, it’s time to make it now,” he said. “Robert Griffin III has been a Redskin now for one and a half years. If you’re gonna change his coach and you want a coach to grow with him like the Bradys and Belichicks and all the great pairs of quarterbacks and coaches, you have to do it now. And right now, I think the Red Lobster’s working his way outta here. I think Shanahan is working his way out of here.”
Red Lobster... :laughing- |

Just found his "red lobster" comment hilarious. Truth is, Smoot isn't a very bright guy when it comes to stuff like this. Bringing in a Gruden or Cowher would be a drastic mistake. Sure, lets bring in a guy who hasn't coached football in 7+ years. That'll be swell!! |
Re: Redskins Lions postgame
we just need to fire Hasslet and hire Lovie Smith

Bill cowher isn't coming back folks. And gruden probably won't either

Would love, love, love that!!! Lovie is a 4-3 disciple though and I believe Mike is committed to the 3-4. So...how about we just go with Lovie for HC!?!?! |

^^^^This. I love how the mentality says go out and get these ex-great coaches, but that's the truth, they have been out of the game too long to come back and be effective. All due respect to coach Gibbs, but I know there were some on here who wondered if the game had passed him by when he was brought out of retirement the first time. Shanahan is probably working his way out of here. I think his chair is hot if they keep losing, and it should be. But we need to start fresh and not go get some re-tread, once upon a time coach... |
