I watched Funny People last night. Well I watched the first 15 minutes and it didn't hold my attention at all. I shut it off
If the first 15 minutes did nothing for you then you made a VERY wise decision. Some friends told me I would love that movie but they were way off. I liked the first half but it goes down hill quickly and then just drags for another hour or so. I think Judd Apatow knows how to make a funny flick but that man needs to hire a better editor or something.

I have not seen Unstoppable yet but I am very interested in seeing it. Some parts of it were shot in a small town close to where I am. A few people form work are in the movie as extras. So it will be pretty neat to see the cranky quality inspector at work dressed up as a cop in the movie...

My wife and I saw 127 Hours over the weekend. Very well done, especially given that virtually everyone who would want to see this movie knows what happens. James Franco puts on a hell of a performance.

Actually going to see Unstoppable tonight. Heard it's very good. It's a Tony Scott film, so it should be.

Unstoppable is a good flick. An all around decent action flick. Not great, but very good.

I'm looking forward to 127 hrs too.

I can't believe someone else has seen gummo. I just watched that writer/director's latest movie called [no, I'm not making this up] "Trash Humpers." Yeah, it's as bad as it sounds.

I watched this Aussie flick called "Animal Kingdom" over the weekend. One of my top two films of the year.

We bought Toy Story 3 for my son and he watch some of it. So on Saturday night Iwas bored and said what the hell I will watch. Probably one of the best films I have seen this year I was laughing and crying.

Do yourself a favor and watch it good flick, best one out of the 3 and for the record two is awful!

I think it is a girl and according IMDb it is as well.

Revealing mistakes: As Scott and his dad celebrate in the bleachers at the very end of the movie, a red-shirted fan above them to the left notices her pants are unbuttoned and fly is undone. The fan awkwardly attempts to fix things for several seconds.

If you go on IMDb under every movie title there is a goofs section, I love read them and they are usually spot on!

Tron was absolutely abysmal. Stay away. Not worth the money. I saw IMAX 3D and it was just terrible. Slow, boring, terrible dialog/plot. Some cool special effects, but nothing worth spending 17 bucks.

I saw one feature length movie in IMAX and I'll never do it again. The whole time I felt like I needed to sit about 40 feet back.

I saw Black Dynamite the other day. It was hilarious, very well done. I enjoyed the cheesy plot with the curveball at the end, and the action sequences were about what you'd expect.

Black Swan was indeed intense. I'm still undecided about whether I liked it more or less than The Social Network (obviously, they're very different). Also recently saw True Grit, which I think was good, but it doesn't measure up to Swan or Network.

Ip Man isn't brand new but it had some awesome Kung Fu in it. You can stream it instantly on Netflix.

A dude at the MovieStop by my house recommended this to me when it came out a few months ago so I gave it a shot and holy crap did Donnie Yen vault up my list of martial artists who are absolutely badass. That fight scene in the dojo when he snapped was brutal.

went and saw the Mechanic remake this weekend and dude, Ben Foster needs to be in more movies. It starts a bit slowly but by the middle of the movie it's pretty non stop action. Not a whole lot to the plot as guessed, but an entertaining trip to the theater none the less.

MonkFan4Life 01-31-2011 10:11 AM

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread

Yeah Ben Foster is sick ! He was the only thing that kept me in 3:10 To Yuma, was great in Alpha Dog, and was a f***ing monster in 30 Days of Night.
