Are you serious?? I mean really?? Stand JC up next to any other NFL
QB out there right now and tell me how much better he is DURING GAME TIME, and screw the f*cking numbers. That first throw Portis was hanging there middle field wide open and he never even looked, not once did he turn his head.. he was just lookin for Moss.. never even turned left.. and I saw it all night long. Last drive Randal El was WIDE open and he chose to throw deep to moss and Randal El had a straight shot into th endzone. He didn't even look. If I were Zorn I'd be beating my head against a wall trying to figure out how the hell to bench his ass and now get fired.. what a f*cking mess! OK.. now I'm going to bed.. God Help the Skins!
I'm sorry but you can't just pin the fault on a single person. For everytime JC f'ed there was a missed block by the o-line, receivers dropping the ball, and plays being negated by penalties. Gamecalling wasn't that great either. Honestly the only people that did well and helped us not get blown out of this game was the Defense (gave up only 16 pts even with so many 3 and outs by the offense), Brooks punting (how many punts were inside the 20?), and Portis who ran well (and should have ran some more). So people stop trying to pin this on JUST Campbell, this is a team and as a team they all bear the blame. |
Re: Redskins vs. Giants Game Thread 9/4/08
I just think the most frustrating thing wasn't Jason's play or the Defense or anything like that. It was those routes that were obviously short of the first down!

Re: Redskins vs. Giants Game Thread 9/4/08
C'mon fellas, nobody can be irked about this game. We overachieved and kept the margin within ten in a game that should have been much closer to my prediction of 42-6. Simply put, we are team w/o a NFL caliber offense, which by necessity means our defense should get worn in most games and allow the opponent to run up the score in the 2nd half. That did not happen and so I don't see how any fan can honestly complain. WE KEPT THE SCOREBOARD RESPECTABLE!!!

Honestly the people that just blame JC don't know shit about football and it's typical knee jerk reaction. JC does deserve some blame cause he just doesn't seem to come off to his 2nd and 3rd wr yet. He doesn't seem to have good field vision yet. But he is going to need more time in this offense and everyone needs to be patient. He certainly doesn't have anyone like Plax. Burress to throw to. We have below average wr's and an average line. Plus why all the dink and dunk passes? WTF was that all about? Looked like the 06 offense to me. As far as the defense, they stunk and Taylor either should not have been in there or he's simply not ready to play NFC East football. Both he and Carter were terrible tonight. And we really miss the presence of #21 and that position needs to be addressed next year. But regardless of how bad the defense played we only gave up 16 points on the road. This one is on the offense. Should have kept Al around for one more year!! |

I agree totally; however, I would argue the Giants are not a good football team this year. We made them look pretty efficient but @ week 16 I will be very surprised if NY has a winning record. Sure they will have a better record than Zorn and Co. but that simply means they are less shitty. |

I agree that the Giants won't tear it up. If they were a great football team, they would have beat us by 30 points or more, given the way we played. Our offense was pitiful. |

If you watched the damn game you'd realize that some of the time wr's were not open. Some of the stuff was on him cause he needs to learn to come off to his 2nd and 3rd guys. Some of the time our o-line was being killed. Other times the wr's were running 6 yard patterns when it's 3-8. Some of it is on the coaching cause they should've had him in shotgun. Even though JC needs to play better, tonight was certainly not 100% on JC. But I'm sure you just want to blame it all on him cause you just don't like the guy. |

Well when you have turnover like we do then sometimes it's going to show on the field. Right? Eli has been in one offense his whole career. He also has a stud in Plx. Burress and we just don't have that type of physical presence on the field. He made Eli look good on a couple throws. And while Eli is a better QB than JC he sure threw some terrible passes too. |

Give me a break. The only one that is taking this personal is the people that love JC and hate when I call him out. Why would it be personal for me? I don't know the guy.. and I all I want is for the Skins to win. I watch him play and he makes bad chioces. I see it time and again, and I watch every game. Other QBs have his issues with players and still seem to find a way to get that ball where it needs to be. If you all think JC is our guy, you have a VERY long road ahead.. a lot of loss and a lot of up and down BS games is what we have ahead of us. He just doesn't have what it takes to be a top QB in the NFL. You all don't like it, but that's what I see. It's not personal, it's just my opinion based on what I SEE. Football isn't personal, it's a game, a sport and something I love to watch. But it's a hell of a lot more fun to watch when we have a QB that knows what the heck to do! |

Give JC a break, how many OC's has he had in the last 7 years? Would you rather start slow ass Collins (who would have been killed) or green as an apple Colt. Be realistic, JC is our one and only choice for this season. |

If this kind of performance continues, so would I. Collins may be molasses but he has an accurate arm and good vision. Too bad it turns noodle when he has to throw a bomb but in a WCO system, you don't have to worry about that too much. |

He looked lost and slow during the pre-season. He'd probably be more lost than Campbell grasping the Paul Brown offense (I hate the term WCO) |

As bad as we looked it was not a blow out. Either the Giants pulled punches or we are not as bad as we look to be. or the Giants are not as good as they used to be even though they did not look to bad. I wonder how well we will play them at the end of the yr. I honestly don't think the Saints are better or even as good as the Giants. I won't go so far and say it will be easy but I think the Giants D is better. How many of you about shit yourself when they announced Torrence was filling in. LOL. I'm not saying he's our guy and he needs to play better. But time after time after time you're just killing the guy when there are other people to blame. That shows me it's personal with you. He didn't play poorly last year or the year before. He's been about average. What were you expecting with a new coach, another new offense, a bad pass blocking line and wr's that are not all that good? Do you think he's good enough to carry us through all that against the Giants defense which shut down NE? Keep it real would you! As far as scoring points is concerned, our offense isn't that good, and it hasn't been the past several years. In one of your other posts you're calling out Carlos R. but you have to realize that he's coming off a very serious injury and he really shouldn't even be out there. His type of injury takes 12 months to recover from and he's covering Plax. Buress one on one????? Sorry but you just can't ask him to do that. Re: Redskins vs. Giants Game Thread 9/4/08
On a side note.....Gibbs lost his first 5 as a rookie coach before winning games. I'm sure people were not happy and probably wanted him fired but look what he did for us when he started winning. We really do need to give Zorn a chance. I still don't know why we didn't try to find a way to keep McMullen...he seemed to be forming a bond with Campbell. Why did it seem to take all the way up till the 4th quarter to get Cooley the ball? What happened to the 2 TE sets....did I fall asleep? I don't recall the ball ever being handed off to Sellers either. Screen pass set up sucked. Slants were working.
Oh well. maybe next time on our turf. Until then we need to find a way to win or we will be left behind in this division. |

We look like a 4-6 win team and that's why I was so against the Jason Taylor trade. That draft pick is probably going to end up being a high 2nd rounder. |

I wonder if the O-line understimated the Giants D-line without Osi.

Things will change when Thomas and Kelly grasp the offense (even if it's 60%) and Fred Davis is thrown in the mix. That's 3 weapons we will gain that didn't play tonight, it might make a difference.

When they grasp the offense that still might not mean things will change. We're talking about 3 unproven rookies. But we do need a physical presence out there and I'm hoping Kelly can provide that for us. Moss and ARE simply don't cut it. Moss is looking more like a #3 and ARE is looking like a #4. |

I laughed at this the first time I read it, but now I am not so sure it's actually untrue. We had a lot of players that looked lost, or didn't perform to standards. Brooks was fairly consistant, and not bad overall. |

For as much as I do not agree with a lot of your comments (I think you're being too hard on some people even though I haven't said anything), I do agree with the above comment. People are too quick to say that the WR's aren't getting open, but last year Collins proved they ARE getting open, Campbell isn't seeing it. Campbell is looking like Brunell...too afraid to make a mistake. That being said, I am confident that Zorn will break him of that. He just needs time. |

I would have been very unhappy if Zorn put in Brennan. A lot of you know how happy I am that we picked Colt, but if Zorn put him in the game week 1, then that would show 0% confidence in Campbell. That would be a moronic move, and if he did that, I'd be ready to fire Zorn. Did campbell play well? Absolutely not! But you let Zorn review the tapes and work with Campbell, you don't pull the rug out week 1. If we're 2-11 and it's mainly campbell's fault...sure, I can see the move, but this is Campbell's team, and you let him work through it. Campbell played MUCH better in the 2nd half, hopefully he will build on it. I am a little concerned at how quick everyone is ready to hit the panic button. It's not even "hitting" the panic button, it's jumping on it over and over and over. Relax guys, we can do this (lose) about 6 more times and we can still make the playoffs. |
