It feels good not to be spending big in FA anymore, teams are built through the draft and filling holes in FA with value players at a low cost.

I completely agree. Notice how a lot of the premier teams, if not all the premier teams are not making much noise right now. |

and just as importantly, working to keep our own wherever possible. |

Valuable on special teams too |
Re: Official Redskins Free Agency Thread 2013
We have solid depth along the front line. Adam Carriker returning and Jenkins will hopefully be improved after his second year off that injury.

Excellent point. Boring free agency means solid depth and growth from within and a reliance on the draft. Model for success in the NFL...although, the irrational fan in me loves those free agency press conferences announcing new players...guess that's why I'm a fan and not a football exec |

Boring free agency also means we got bent over with a bogus cap penalty. Otherwise we would be more active. Not Vinny/Danny active, just more active. I like the moves that we have made thus far though with taking care of our own and restructuring some contracts. My bet is we sign a DB, maybe an O-lineman, but not much else... |

The cap thing makes me wonder not what free agent splash we could have made, rather, what needs could we have filled with a solid pickup, of which we can't even afford because of the imaginary infraction we supposedly committed. |

Interesting. I don't see that being a possibility as I don't believe Reggie wants to return to his role with the saints. I also don't want a reason to slow down Morris to much. But who knows. Seems as though there should be better ways to spend the little money we have. |
