Don’t sleep on the switch. I love it, can play anywhere

What games are worth playing on the switch? Outside of Zelda and Mario Kart I'm really not sure what I'd be interested in.

I am a Mario fan so it makes more attractive to me. It’s a fun system. Maybe not for everyone.

Fortnite is fun. I play with my daughter, she’s 11 and better than me already.

what playbook do you use? I usually used Gruden's but have been trying some others, both for offense and defense.

I’ve only used the Skins so far, last year I mostly used the Patriots and Browns offenses, Steelers D

I'll try the Pats O.

I've been trading like a madman, my favorite part of the game.

Spider-Man is awesome

Definitely can’t wait for Red Dead 2

Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)

I gotta say, f Amazon for video games now. Every game I ordered of the last 2 years came from Amazon because nobody could beat the discount you got for preordering. Went to go preorder RDR2 today and found out they discontinued that at the end of August.

No idea where I'm going to preorder now, but it ain't Amazon.

MTK 09-17-2018 09:59 AM

Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)

Yeah definitely disappointing that Prime dropped the discount... I usually just preorder on the Playstation store anyway. It's so nice to wake up and have your game ready to go without having to wait half the day for the mail.

Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)

I bought PUBG (preview) over the summer, had a coupon on eBay and got it for $15. I didn't even notice that it was a download code, so when the box arrived and there was no disc I was mad. Then I remembered that it's 2018.

Anyways, it's the first time I've bought a digital code instead of a disc. The game plays fine so I'll be open to it in the future.

I just like selling my old games (discs) to help out w the costs of the new ones. Like Madden, I usually sell it in July or so, get about $10-$15 towards the new copy > wait a week or so after it's released and buy it for $50 on eBay. So the total cost ends up being around $35-$40 instead of $60.

Really tired horizon, for a dad of 2 and a full time job the learning curve is to steep. I just don’t have the time, which makes me sad.

A part of me feels bad for the people who worked 100 hour work weeks to make RDR2, but on the flip side after managing to not fan-boy over it for the last 2 years I'm in full hype mode as I await my copy to arrive tomorrow.

If it's as good as IGN says it is (first 10/10 review I've seen for R*) I'm gonna take a much needed reprieve from here and the politics board.

Red Dead Redemption
2 arrives tomorrow
fuck politics talk

......

On the mission where you go with Hosea to hunt the grizzly, after the mission is over I decided to stay and hunt the super grizzly myself. I killed the grizzly, skinned him, and as I was hightailing it back to camp I came over a hill and my horse hit another guy on a horse at full speed. This fucker pulled his six shooter almost immediately and shot me dead, now I lost the skin for selling because it sent the skin to the trapper only to be used for crafting. Fuckin A lol.

lol, right after I got the bear I came across a woman who’s horse collapsed and she needed a ride. I would have needed to drop the pelt for her to get on the horse, I said nope woman you better get walking

Just played through the first standard missions...got my first chance just to walk around and explore. Unbelievable graphics..shit has come a long. Game play seems cool...little slow but will get used to it.

Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)

I've been doing everything but the missions lol, spent most of today playing dominoes and poker, and trying to go hunting on the side.

My only gripe with the game so far is it seems you can only put one or two smaller predator pelts on your horse at a time. I enjoyed going hunting in the first RDR where you can sit at one spot all day and collect like 5 bear pelts before you go sell them, but unless R* lets you upgrade the horse it seems like that won't be possible.

Facts. It's come a long way from the first RDR.

So I grab the horse to go exploring...left the camp and just went up the down a trail about 200 yards...the wind and snow picked up and on the screen it said turn around and go back to camp weather conditions too harsh. So I turned around and the horse keeled over and died. I was like what the fuck...turned it off

Wait until you get off the mountain to explore. That’s when the game opens up.

Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)

Little things keep surprising me about this game, I was in some rando's house robbing them, beat up this guy on my way in and left him on the floor. I was searching one of the bedrooms when he comes raging into the room and attacks me from behind, I thought he was down for the count lol! Took care of him proper the second time around.

Chico23231 10-29-2018 12:42 PM

Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)

So I've gotten to the first open world camp and I haven't done any missions yet...just exploring...probably couple hours of that...

What I found aggravating is whenever I'm out exploring, If I bump into 3 or more guys its tough..ive died like 3 times this...and when I come back Ive lost a great pelt or entire animal stowed on my horse each time. My Dead eye is a little rusty.

Do yall find pressure to sleep a lot? when its dark I do...but I feel I need to be back in base...Ive camped once out in the land.

I like the challenge so far...the ai has an itchy finger. I haven't been to the city yet on the map, going tonight probably.

MTK 10-29-2018 01:23 PM

Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)

Yeah it's definitely not forgiving when you die. I'm careful to get back to camp or to a butcher if I have pelts to unload before I mix it up with strangers.

I went and checked out Saint Denis. Wasn't there for 2 minutes before I got mugged lol. Then I went into a bar, accidentally shot off my gun and had a half dozen cops all over me.

Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)

I can't remember the last time I had so much fun getting lost in a game.

I only just completed the mission where you get to the stable and choose/name a horse. But I've been doing hella exploring, hunting, etc. I don't want to believe that I'm already 20% thru.

Also, I found a glitch where I saved my game just after finding a money clip in an abandoned cabin. When I loaded the game the next time the money clip was still there, I grabbed it and saved my game again, etc. etc.

It took 2 minutes each time I did this. I just got bored of doing it after about 30 minutes. I got $10-$15 each time.

Google gold bar glitch, you're wasting your time on $10-$15 lol

Gold bars get you $500 each at the fence

There's a gold bar glitch that works on the same principle, you turn off autosave, go find a gold bar chest, open the box, save the game, then grab the gold bar and it will replenish itself infinitely although you can only carry 30. I did the glitch but I haven't sold all the gold bars yet (at 500 per it's like 15k for all 30) because I know if I sell all 30 it will take away the grinding appeal. I sold one just because I'm tired of having 200 bucks to my name, but that's it. I'm sitting on the rest until the glitch gets fixed and it gets deleted or I find something to use it for.

Also my only major gripe is the disappointment I have towards hunting in the game. Idk if I haven't advanced far enough yet but every time I try hunting I can't find jack squat. I even threw down bait and nothing showed up. And this is after I did the mission where you hunt the mega-grizzly with Hosea. How are we supposed to find the spots where the predators hang?

On the hunting part, I’m with you. I don’t like sitting around hunting 24/7...I do like the legendary animals...but the perfect pelt shit. Don’t have time

Which weapon is your go to?

Usually carrying the Lancaster repeater on the horse. Customized up with Express velocity bullets.

Granger revolver with express velocity on the hip. Have a solid amount of revolvers and a pistol.

Have a double barrel and short shotgun...but never use it.
