1000% wrong. This article should have been shelved as soon as the author pointed to the Bears as who we should emulate. The Bears are the same team that traded a starting quarterback, two first round picks, a third round pick and a 5th round pick for a guy who was an absolute disaster. The Bears are in panic mode! Their entire front office is fighting for their jobs and they had no first or second round pick. They had no choice.
Please, if anything the Bears are emulating us. I mean giving up draft choices and signing free agents to monster contracts shortly after the start of free agency. Holding onto players past their prime . For now the Bears are the new Redskins.
Filed to ESPN: Rams reached agreement with former Giants DT Fred Robbins on a three-year deal worth up to $12 million.
Anyone think this sheds some light on who the Rams will take in the draft? Robbins is older, but might the Rams be more inclined now to take a QB? Pure speculation obviously, just wondering.
Would you trade Rogers and our 2nd rounder for Sproles and a 3rd? Keep in mind it would be the last pick in the 3rd round

(And keep in mind I'm just the rumor mongering messenger here)
I wouldn't. The argument for trading Rogers is best supported by his age relative to corners on the open market (older than Bodden, roughly same age as Buchanon..who was drafted three years before), but Sproles is a 27 year old RB, which puts him at roughly the same distance from "the end" as Rogers.

So once it's established that getting Sproles and giving up Rogers isn't really an upgrade (it at least moves some defensive talent to the offensive end), the rest of the trade is obvious enough. I would be interested if San Diego could offer us their late third rounder, and take our fifth off our hands.
Keep in mind we could always trade down a few spots in the first round, still drafting in the first round mind you, and pick up another team's second round pick.

So now we have a mid to late round first rounder, a second rounder via another team, and a third (from the Chargers). In that scenario, we've essentially traded 'Los for Sproles straight up. Not quite, but you get the point.
It's true but I get nervous about something that might not be a proven commodity. Say what you will about his hands, but Carlos locks down most receivers.

No way in hell I would do that. I really hope that rumor is not true. We need more picks not less. That's basically a 4th round pick and our 2nd round pick is a high #2. terrible...

That deal would be even worse than the Portis/Bailey trade in my opinion. I don't even think Vinny would have been dumb enough to do that trade and he's the guy who gave up a 2nd and a 6th for Jason Taylor. If we were to do a trade involving those players, it would have to be a straightup trade. I wouldnt even throw in a 7th rounder and i'd be inclined to insist they provide something else. Rogers may have bad hands but he does a pretty good job of shutting receviers down most of the time. He's definitely a starting corner in the league. You don't trade starting corners for #3 running backs/return men.

Maybe. But I'm not sure that the Rams will think that they don't need the best DT in the draft simply because they have mediocre Robbins. I think they picked up Robbins for depth, not upgrade.

I liked the guy played well with 2 broken hands. The plus for the Rams is he knows the system,I think that Spags also talked to AP as well.

I think that means that you have post that have been deleted. It's like putting a bunch of stuff in a bag and stretching out the bag than taking things out. I mean you have less stuff in the bag but once it's stretched it's not going back.

Broncos are meeting with Jammal williams the NT from the chargers who we should sign, instead of kemoatu.

and the saints are meeting with Leonard Little and also plan to meet with Jammal Williams as well.

I still don't know what is going on with Parker and Foote.

WE NEED FOOTE.

Exactly...a starting CB is harder to find and therefor worth more then a RB. A straight up trade is not even fair. The Chargers were letting Sprolles walk until they saw interest and thought they could get a draft pick. Let them get it from someone else.

Larry Foote is there right now, well he may have left already. I think he still wants to make some other visits this week. So I doubt he'd sign with us today

Antwaan Randle El has reached a 3 year agreement with the Steelers, his former team per Adam Sheftler

We may have helped ourselves out more than we knew. With the Steelers signing both Arnaz Battle and Antwaan Randle El, the team could part ways With Limas Sweed. 6'4" 220 lbs guy who i wanted outta college more than Malcolm Kelly. I would like to see him in Burgandy & Gold this year.

Steelers are interested in Foote coming back if he wants to as well

What would you want Sweed for? He's got 7 career catches.. yep, last year he only got ONE catch. BUST! Or someone else's project.

Oh and the Steelers locked Ryan Clark up for another 4 years.

Sweed made it this far for a reason. Perhaps it's cause he was not given the chance to develope as some have said about Thomas and Kelly not seeing the field for Moss and ARE?
