If that was the case I might just go to a CFL game...
Who remembers when there were 2 teams named RoughRiders (in a 9 team league)?
Saskatchewan and Ottawa. One was Red and White, the other Green and White. <- Done w/out googling. I used to live across the street (literally) from the old Memorial Stadium and watched many a CFL game when the Stallions were in town. I would walk over after the game started and get in for $1.00. Good times! |
Sent a plane after him, or to him.
Titans' plane reported to be on the ground. Yep, we've sunk to watching airplanes.
I say they have an Airplane pull off like 4wd trucks do. You tie one end of rope (in this case a very big rope) to one plane an the other end to the other teams jet. They then try to pull the other teams jet around until it falls apart. Ottowa was the Rough Riders, Saskatchewan the Roughriders. Again, I feel compelled to say, answered without the aid of google. (I think that should be a new short form: "AWAG").

49ers are in the mix. Mort is going to report it soon, if he hasn't yet
|
Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
^ Thats what I was going to say, Mort says that the surprise team for manning is 49ers, which would be a d*ck slap in the face to alex smith after Harbaugh said he is undoubtedly their QB. Having said that, the move makes the most sense IMO.

Harbaugh can say what he wants, fact is they still haven't agreed to a contract so for all intents and purposes their current QB is Colin Kaepernick |

Have they been interested all along or are they just proclaiming their interest now? That'll make it interesting. |
Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
of all the teams rumored to have been interested in manning, the 49ers are the best fit in every way i can think of. instant NFC superbowl favorites if they sign him.

A lot rides on that statement like injuries, who they lose to FA, and then there is how well PM plays (health wise). The only knock I can see for the 49ers is they are in the NFC and that might mean him playing against his brother trying to get into the SB. I was never a PM will not sign with an NFC team guy but between all the teams I will say I think Denver has a better chance at getting him because they are AFC, and made the playoffs. |

That's kinda of low really. $12mil/year salary?? Scheft's tweet pretty much solidifies what you said earlier about PM telling the Phins/Cards...no dice. Ah. Well they certainly did a good job of keeping their interest off the radar. From a Redskins standpoint, Peyton joining the NFC would be a bad thing. I hope he sticks with Denver. |

GMScud just said he'll commit 10 bucks to Peyton signing in SF if it means keeping Tebowmania alive. Your move. |
Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
i think SF has always had the advantage in that they have the best team and had the most success last year. oh and I CALLED IT TWO WEEKS AGO!!!1!!1#!#12324!
see how annoying that is? I think part of meeting with the titans is upping his price. i'm sure he's looking closer to 23mill/year vs 18. |
Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
If manning is smart he'll go to the 49ers. If he's dumb he'll go to the titans with their rebuilding defense and no WR's (the one they have is one dumb move away from being suspended for a long time)
|
Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
If Manning doesn't pick the 49ers, they could be left without Smith too. Colin Kaepernick was drafted to replace Smith anyways.
Miami...ha...lost Manning, Flynn and may be left with Alex Smith. They're better off drafting Tannehill to throw to...well, nobody now. Dolphins fans must want to jump into the ocean. So great in the 70s...almost great in the 80s if not for Riggins and Montana...a complete joke since with no relief in sight. |
