I haven't been reading/posting here often enough to know the positions of regular posters yet. But I don't think it is a delusion to see how the media has become twisted and corrupted over past the 2-3 decades. Looking at last weeks media reporting on the Atlanta shootings it is hard to dispute Sullivan's conclusions that he laid out in the article I posted above. They are twisting/ have twisted the population into supporting collective guilt. |
Re: Media Bias
Social media influence is undeniable in forwarding this collapse of viable, honest news media.
Last week CNN wrote this about the Atlanta shootings as a headline article, front page https://www.cnn.com/2021/03/18/politics/white-supremacy-racism-asian-americans/index.html First sentence of the article: it's immaterial whether the accused killer in the Atlanta spa shootings admits to a racist motivation. Asian Americans, already traumatized by a rising tide of hate, violence and rhetoric, have been living in fear for months They are openingly saying “the facts don’t matter” here is the narrative you must believe. This was written as the facts started to unravel in a USA Today article which interviewed people in his group home stating the guy had a sex addiction so terrible he was in group home therapy. They couldn’t find anyone to say he was a racist...social media post aside from a single China Virus” post didn’t give us insight to a character other than he was deeply religious. If we actually look at crime stats acts of violence against Asians...and just other recent events...the white supremacy argument folds quickly. It’s what’s exactly is happening today with the Boulder shooting...yesterday the narrative was “another white guy mass shooting”...today it “we need gun control” What changed? We found out the shooters name. Bigoted statements on social media are being erased included those from meena Harris and daily show about evil whitey. |

Fox News is burying the sexual misconduct scandals re republicans Gaetz and Cawthorn.
I personally dont care at all that left leaning media leans left and right leaning media leans right. I do think its odd that people get all up in arms and wave their "media is the enemy" flag though when this happens. |

And if any laws broken, that dude should go to jail. Period
lol i watched the 8 min interview clip After watching .. im guessing gaetz is saying there was no 17 year old girl .. but then later on, if there was it was legal I 100% assumed the age of consent in Florida was 17 and he could get in trouble if he transferred a 17 year old across state lines and had sex. But Florida, the age of consent is 18 so if he did have sex with a 17 year old, thats statutory rape. Romeo Juliet law allows some consideration if they are within 4 years of age. https://www.criminaldefenselawyer.com/resources/florida-statutory-rape-laws.htm Well see where it goes ... the whole his family is getting extorted by a DOJ agent thing is weird .. the DOJ agent he is accusing of isnt there anymore, doesnt have the ability to make this DOJ investigation go away and if your dad is wearing a wire, didnt you just make public the sting operation to prove the extortion? Well see what happens .. weird dude the whole I have a son and I let him to go spring break thing is weird to .. he doesnt have a son, he has some 19 year old living at his house for some reason. This 19 year odl has a dad, he isnt named Matthew gaetz. |

Baltimore, the Siren Song won out tonight. Got off early for dog-sitting duties (my phone literally tried to auto correct to dogfighting). Which would be the best job ever if I could find a way to survive off of it (dog-sitting).
I knew I wouldn't make it too long. But it's really not that racy: When was the last time anyone here that constantly shits on Tucker has actually watched a full episode of his show? Not some clip presented on a democrat newscast with no context, an actual episode? I've offered up the deal to watch someone a liberal likes here for a week if the same person would watch Tucker before, at least 3 times. Never 1 taker. Which is fine, if you have no desire to watch him. But if you refuse to watch him, but then also get to be the judge, jury, and executioner of how racist he is, seems a little weird. So unless some liberals here magically started watching Tucker in their free time, what is this based off of? I don't come in here shitting on Chris Cuomo or Rachel Maddow or Don Lemon all the time, because I don't watch them. |

I liked Gaetz, but this interview, not because he's necessarily guilty of anything illegal, but just because of the typical trying to deflect, is off-putting at best and flat out wrong at worst. He's a perfect (and for Americans shitty) politician for DC. |

Re: Media Bias
It’s completely wild at the purposeful spreading of misinformation by the president and the media about the new Georgia voting laws
Starting to see the stealth editing and corrections being made...the point is to spread lies first to get the narrative going. Then make corrections later as a way to saying well our intentions are pure and in good faith. That’s why they are the enemy of the people folks. |

Re: Media Bias
Myth 1: The Georgia election law discourages voting/suppresses votes
FACT: The bill actually preserves or expands ballot access in several important ways: It requires that large precincts with lines more than an hour long take steps like adding voting machines and election personnel for the next election to reduce wait times. It does not change the number of total early voting days, and actually increases the mandatory days of early weekend voting. Compared to 2020, 134 of 159 counties will offer more early voting hours in future elections under the new law. It codifies election drop boxes, which did not exist prior to 2020. Voters can continue to vote absentee with no excuse(unlike states like Delaware, New York, and Connecticut, which require an excuse to vote absentee). Myth 2: The Georgia law eliminates voting on Sunday to suppress African-American votes FACT: Georgia law was silent on Sunday early voting days prior to SB 202, and in 2020 only 16 of 159 counties offered early voting on Sundays. The new law explicitly provides the option of holding early voting on two Sundays for all localities. It actually increases the mandatory days of early weekend voting across the state. Myth 3: The Georgia election law suppresses the vote with onerous voter ID requirements FACT: The law requires a driver’s license or free state ID number, which 97% of registered voters already have. Anyone without a valid ID can easily obtain one for free. The voter ID requirement replaces the state’s controversial signature match program that led to the disqualification of thousands of votes in 2020. The law’s voter ID requirement for absentee ballots is overwhelmingly popular in Georgia across the board. According to an AJC poll in January, 74% of Georgia voters support it, including 63% of black voters, and 89% of those making under $25K/year. Myth 4: The bill eliminates drop boxes for absentee voting FACT: The drop boxes used in the last election did not exist a year ago. They were first utilized in 2020 as a pandemic precaution. This bill makes them an official part of Georgia elections, and they will be available in all 159 counties in Georgia and under supervision to protect against tampering. Myth 5: The bill lets Republicans throw out any county votes they don’t agree with FACT: The bipartisan State Election Board can do performance reviews of local election supervisors who fail their area’s voters with things like long lines and unfulfilled absentee ballot requests. The board will not overturn election results; the law simply provides a process to review and ensure officials are technically competent and complying with state laws and regulations . This process requires a high burden of proof over multiple elections, and the State Elections Board may only suspend up to four election supervisors at any given time, which guards against using this process to try to influence election outcomes. Myth 6: The bill bans drinking water for voters while waiting in line FACT: Like the countless other states that have very specific laws against electioneering near polling places, Georgia has codified rules preventing political groups from handing out food or water to voters in line as an incentive to vote, but specifically allows poll workers to make water available to anyone who wants it. The law will also directly cut down wait times, meaning refreshment for people waiting in line will be less necessary. Imagine thinking you shouldn’t need an id to vote and believe covid passport would be a good idea |

Funny I've seen people on the right up in arms over a covid passport yet they love the idea of voter ID.
Since when is showing proof of your vaccination history some sort of big deal? We've been doing it all of our lives. The politicizing of the pandemic continues to amaze me. |

If fully vaccinated, you can’t carry or spread the virus says the CDC. Every adult who wants the vaccine will have access to it by the end of May. Ladies and gentleman, that means the masks are done. |

The vaccine passport thing just sounds like some executive boardroom idea that would fail.
is it even a real possibility or something just floated about and has gained more media attraction and has morphed into something bigger than it ever really was? I honestly havent read anything outside of headlines. |

Is the vaccine proof really that difficult to pull off? When I got my shot yesterday they gave me a card showing I had the first shot. Maybe it's a state thing, I don't know.
