Yes dumping the EPA is good for business's and trump wants that at any cost including risking the lives of all Americans but hey fuckem....we're winning!
YES Let's not forget Flint Michigan. A city that relied on the Democratic party, and they failed them.
I love how Flint is raised by you as a call against Trump, Hypocrisy thy name is G1:
Flint has a long history of political dominance by the Democratic party. Its current mayor is a Democrat; so was her predecessor; the mayor before him, Don Williamson, was a career criminal (he did time for various scams some years back) and a Democrat who resigned under threat of recall; his immediate predecessor, Democrat James W. Rutherford, is a longtime politico and was elected to finish out the term of Woodrow Stanley, who was recalled because of the financial state in which he left the city. Stanley was in effect replaced by — Democrat — Darnell Earley, former director of the Democratic legislative caucus’s research-and-policy team, who became the city’s emergency manager. Earley is the Democrat the other Democrats blame for changing the city’s water supply, and the Michigan Democratic party has demanded his termination.
They relied on the government bureacracy, and which under Pres. Obama failed them too.
Overall, the report found EPA “did not implement management controls that could have facilitated more informed and proactive decision-making. The federal response was delayed, in part, because the EPA did not establish clear roles and responsibilities, risk-assessment procedures, effective communication and proactive oversight tools.”
(but Trump is killing the EPA)
Government bureacracies don't by themselves fix issues, and the more invasive the regulations the more that important items get missed.

Another way of saying it, is you don't fix bureacracy by adding more bureacracy, you fix it by paring it back, seeing what parts are working and then building from them IF needed.

Flint was a tragedy symbolic of reliance on Democratic leadership and ideals. The Democratic party has failed the inner cities like baltimore, chicago, detroit over and over again, but they sound smooth, like the snake oil salesmen of old. And somehow have sold that poison to a substantial portion of our country.

Who saved Flint, US volunteers, people who heard the disaster and sent money and supplies.
Walmart, in partnership with Pepsi , Coca-Cola, and Nestle, announced Tuesday that it will deliver 6.5 million bottles of water to public school kids in the city, the largest single donation to the disaster relief efforts yet. That’s in addition to hundreds of thousands of bottles the retail giant has already donated.

Sean Combs and Mark Wahlberg‘s bottled water company pledged to give 1 million bottles. This includes help from hip hop artists Wiz Khalifa and Detroit-native Eminem.
Pearl Jam gave $300,000 total (the rockers pledged $125,000 and collected an additional $175,000.)
Nestle, in addition to aiding Walmart, has given over 190,000 bottles of water since October.
Cher partnered with Icelandic Glacial to donate 181,440 bottles of water, according to Billboard.
Detroit Lions players have donated upwards of 94,000 bottles, led by defensive end Ezekiel Ansah, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.
Detroit Lions charities have donated an undisclosed amount of money to the United Way to aid in the transportation of water.
Of course you are shot down with trump dumping the EPA and dumping regulations and you blame Obama. The State of Michigan failed and the goverment of Flint failed the city but yes Obama was president but he isn't closing up the EPA as an answer ,is he?

I would rather have a limited federal government and responsible local governments not corrupt ones like the one in Flint. Yes that is my answer.

And if you read my previous answer i said the way to fix govt like the epa is to pare it down, like pruning a tree, keeping parts that are healthy and necessary, and getting rid of unnecessary, parts, ubhealthy parts, and parts that are growing the wrong way.

As for my motto, you are, as usual, wrong. I really expected the Republicans to repeal it, put some other system in place that was still out of whack, and then finally both sides to come together to find a rational plan. Instead, the Republicans were too weak kneed to put the legislation out that their supporters wanted, and now we have this boondoggle where both sides blame the other - which gets votes, but doesn't make things better. It's sad.

I don't think that poll is meant to help, it's just a snapshot that I thought was interesting in the layout of the country. There's an old term - flyover country, and that really describes the split in the country real well.

The division of the country between red/blue is really demonstrated when the 2016 election results are broken down by county. Essentially, rural America voted for Trump and urban America voted Clinton (an oversimplification, but not by too much).

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/da/2016_Presidential_Election_by_County.svg/800px-2016_Presidential_Election_by_County.svg.png

Other interesting facts about how geography and demographics play a part in the election:
- Right now, eight states have half the US population.
- If you remove California from the results, Trump won the popular vote.
- If you remove California & New York from the results, Trump won the popular vote by about 4 million voters.

Obviously you can't simply not count certain states but it does demonstrate the concentration of liberal voters in certain areas and vice versa for conservatives.

Just interesting to me, not suggesting anything in particular by it except that there is a real communication break down between urban and rural voters in the US.

White House: It’s in ‘Public Interest’ for Staff to Skirt Ethics Rules to Meet With Fox News

It is “in the public interest” for a the White House's top communicator to be excused from federal ethics laws so he can meet with Fox News, according to President Donald Trump’s top lawyer. Bill Shine, Trump’s newly minted communications director, and Larry Kudlow, the White House’s top economist, who worked at CNBC before his White House post, have both been excused from provisions of the law, which seeks to prevent administration officials from advancing the financial interests of relatives or former employers. “The Administration has an interest in you interacting with Covered Organizations such as Fox News,” wrote White House counsel Don McGahn in a July 13 memo granting an ethics waivers to Shine, a former Fox executive. ..

I'll throw the raw meat out. (with the usual wait and see note - If Trump is impeached and the Senate ousts him, or true treason is found in the Mueller probe, which it won't be, then I will not be up in arms)

now to the meat, though I'm sure the appetizer above has G1's blood boiling.

Big day for the anti-Trumpers' and the msm is sure making hay over it. But it still remains that the charges Manafort was found guilty of were white collar crimes that should not have been brought in conjunction with the special counsel investigation. But it gives the media a lovely spin day.

As for Cohen, he admits to paying hush money to hookers, seriously, that's the hook to hang collusion with Russians on?

Trump's amoral or immoral, and if the presidency came with the morals clause of the NFL players contracts he would be out in a heartbeat, but it doesn't. And we have had several scoundrels in the office.

IF Trump were espousing liberal principles, I am confident I would hate him as much as G1 hates him now, so this post could go in media bias, hypocrosy thread or this one. Have at it, as G1 would say, none of this news is going to affect the Trumpeteers like me.

“The striking thing about the video we just watched is that the president in his usual clumsy way has stumbled into another federal crime," Eisen said, claiming that Trump signed his federal financial disclosures in 2017 and purposefully omitted his debt to Cohen for paying off women who claimed to have had affairs with the president .

"Guess what, if you owe somebody money, he just said, 'Yes, I know about the payments,' he repaid Michael Cohen. He had to list that on his form. He omitted it," Eisen continued. The ethics expert said that his watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington has already made a criminal referral against Trump, which has resulted in a complaint from the Office of Government Ethics to the Department of Justice.

"President Trump just stumbled right into that second federal offense. So we’re seeing, it may not be the beginning of the end, but it’s the end of the beginning," he added.

Walter Shaub, the previous director of the United States Office of Government Ethics, also noted that Trump's interview proved that the president knowingly omitted his debt to Cohen in his 2017 financial disclosure report.

"In any past administration, this would be a huge story. Everything is relative now," Shaub wrote on Twitter.

Former presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush have reportedly been asked to deliver eulogies to the late Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).

McCain, who died Saturday at the age of 81, had asked that the former presidents speak at his funeral at Washington’s National Cathedral on Saturday, according to CBS News. Vice President Mike Pence is expected to attend.

President Donald Trump will not be invited to McCain’s funeral, at the request of the late senator. The White House was told of McCain’s wishes by family members before his death.

Both Obama and Bush defeated McCain in races for the presidency. Bush bested him in the 2000 Republican primary and Obama won the presidency in 2008 against McCain. But both men deeply admired the Arizona senator

McCain and Trump hated each other. It's not really surprising that the family / Sen. McCain doesn't(didn't) want him there.

Yup. Not surprised gov't flags are at full mast today either, Trump not saying anything mean qualifies as about the nicest thing he'll do for McCain even in death.
