Re: Larry Allen: Should we sign him
Larry Allen has a chronic bad knee. It used to buckle on him on a regular basis during games in the last two years. He is damaged goods and his playing days are numbered. He will retire soon.

Re: Larry Allen: Should we sign him

Hell no!

Re: Larry Allen: Should we sign him
We dont NEED a starter, so I'd rather us sign a young linemen with some skills and potential...instead of a lazy other than game day guy who has very little time left.
The upside of a young player could be huge, while Allen would be a here/now with no future plans....in my opinion. |
If he really benches 700 pounds, and it's not an exaggeration, I'll show you my nuts. Lol
He really benches 700.....lol |
Re: Larry Allen: Should we sign him
I say no, we need someone who will play for $1m a year or less and can play both guard and center. He doesnt fit either of those requirements...
Except he can play guard or tackle. I bet if Larry Allen wanted to, he could play center. |
Re: Larry Allen: Should we sign him
No thanks. He's old, fat, and oft injured.
you gotta be careful when your "critical backups" are high injury risks... and the older they get, the harder it is to heal quickly.
I just thought this line was funny, and how no one commented that our backup guard last year was what, 10 years older than Allen is and stepped in and played well. And I think Allen at age whatever he is, is still a better guard that Dockery is. Dockery is in the same mold as Allen, both are huge guys. He could probably learn somethings from him, Cowboy or not. But I would still want Dockery to start and get better. Allen will stay a Cowboy before he becomes a cheap, vet coach for us |

I think age, wear and tear will effect Allen more. The other thing is I don't know much about Allen if he's an ass or not. I don't want him f!@#'n up the O-line dynamic. Lastly Larry Allen isn't gonna play for free meals and a place to sleep like Ray Brown. |
