Re: The "The one thing I will remember about Levar" thread
I'll remember the good and bad.
Very talented player, explosive at times, high emotions, fan favorite, big hitter. Also a bit of a crybaby at times, stuck his foot in his mouth too often, a bit of an enigma, relied too heavily on his physical talents at times. Sadly, most of all what will stick out to me is unfullfilled potential. |
LaVar let me know that at Eastern Motors my job is my credit. Thanks LaVar!
I'll never forget the first time I saw the Easterns commerical with him sitting in a tiny car, fiercly looking into the camera, and lip synching along with the theme song. I was both horrified and amused. I'm sad to see him go. Does his departure mean that customer service at Eastern Motors will suffer? |
Re: The "The one thing I will remember about Levar" thread
UH.......I will miss sticking up for him out here, and getting pummeled all the time!! glad thats over...or is it?

Re: The "The one thing I will remember about Levar" thread

Re: The "The one thing I will remember about Levar" thread
The Aikman Hit.

Re: The "The one thing I will remember about Levar" thread
Yeah. The Aikman hit...but "the interception" was pretty good too.

Re: The "The one thing I will remember about Levar" thread
Basically, just post a single play or off field event, or series of the previously mentioned. I'll start:
All the times he jumped offsides trying to guess the snap count.
Well, we know it's LaVar, not to be confused with our boy Lemar, but I will remember (1) his pick in the Eagles game this year to seal our playoff run and (2) pick in the Carolina game for a TD when Marty-ball was still in the hizzous.....I miss him already. |
Re: The "The one thing I will remember about Levar" thread

Re: The "The one thing I will remember about LaVar" thread
ok I just had to correct the spelling of his name. Sorry it just irked me too much even though it was making for some good jokes.
The least we can do for one of our more popular players in recent memory is not butcher the spelling of his name. That doesn't irk me as much as people mispelling Darrell Green's name. Daryl, Darell, Darrel |
Re: The "The one thing I will remember about LaVar" thread
Yup, that one kills me too. Possibly one of the most popular players of all time, look it up or don't mention him if you don't know how to spell his name.

Re: The "The one thing I will remember about LaVar" thread
How about Sammy Ball?
lol I hear that one TOO often. |
Re: The "The one thing I will remember about LaVar" thread
Ill miss the physical pressence. He just looked badass out there, and he made some really big plays at times, but overall he was a liability or at the least, overpaid for what he ultimatly brought to the team. If his price goes down in FA i wouldnt mind having him back.

Re: The "The one thing I will remember about LaVar" thread
a play against the giants a couple of years ago late in the season. late in the game, we were behind by 1 score (5 points i think), 3rd down and like 6 or 7 and insead of lavar covering his position he decided to go for the qb, as soon as he vacated his spot the qb hit Jim finn for like a 20 yard gain out of the backfeild and we never got the ball back. of all of his plays this one sticks in my mind the most because it cost the game
Everyone keeps bringing this play up. He was lined up to blitz and that is what he did. He never was suppose to go to the RB. The safety or nickel back is in coverage on that play. He assignment was to blitz. Coaches said it, players said it. I do agree there are plays that he screws up on, or blows, but to blame one person like everyone blamed Walt Harris after the 1st Tampa game, Not that as a D we gave 35 or so points, but blame one guy. Like I said LaVar blew his share of plays and assignments , but that was not one of them. |
