Re: Will T. Jacobs Be Cut ?
I wouldn't write off Jacobs just yet he will finally have a chance in a real offense, whether or not he can stay healthy is another story, he is also a pretty good special teamer, I feel he's a better WR than Tharsh, but not as good on ST's, which may be an edge for Jacobs over Patten, as I believe Jacobs is a better special teamer, I see serious competition between the 3 come training camp.

Re: Will T. Jacobs Be Cut ?
I thought we had a pretty decent offense last year, I mean it only produced individual records in receiving and rushing. ;)
TJ has had plenty of opportunities to step up. Bottom line is he hasn't, I'd be really surprised to see him on the opening day roster. But then again stranger things have happened. |

Re: Will T. Jacobs Be Cut ?
i think the discussion is more about money than anything else.strictly talking ability, jacobs should have been cut last year,but...money always creeps into any discussion about the nfl.patton is a proven, legit wr while mr jacobs hasnt proven anything to anybody.but he must look great at practice, because he keeps hanging around.but its probably jacobs vs. thrash for a roster spot.thrash basically occupies a roster spot because of good special teams play and a superior attitude

Re: Will T. Jacobs Be Cut ?
If TJ practices so well and we want to keep him around, move him to the practice squad!

Re: Will T. Jacobs Be Cut ?
I think Patten's tendency to bitch is a legitimate concern. Coach Joe doesn't give people who do that much of a chance to remain on his team. Gibbs said last year that he had to place Patten in IR because he couldn't afford to leave a roster spot open for so long -- thank you NFL roster rules. That's the issue that seriously needs addressing in the owner meetings.
Still, I'd taking a whining David Patten over a crybaby bum like Taylor Jacobs every single time. And there's no way we keep 6 wideouts on the roster. This ain't the Run-n'-Shoot. |

It's most likely going to be Moss, Randle El, Lloyd, Patten and Thrash. |
Re: Will T. Jacobs Be Cut ?
I'm sure the team wants to keep him around, even if he sucks. I think it's bound to become a numbers game, and I don't see us keeping 6 WRs. Pretty much what Matty said.

Re: Will T. Jacobs Be Cut ?
what about espy what do you guys think his chances are to making the final roster, looks pretty impressive now.

can't, he already has two years of experience. its either roster or bust. |

below zero. he might make the practice squad, but i doubt he beats out thrash on ST, and that's the only way he'd have any chance. |

Re: Will T. Jacobs Be Cut ?
I think he stays and Thrash goes packing.

I'm not overlooking the last 3 games, but looking at the big picture overall we made some pretty good strides offensively and finished 11th overall in total offense. |

I know in the Dallas game he was more than open a few times and Brunell didn't even look his way.[/quote] A QB needs to have confidence in his WRs, something tells me Brunell didn't have much confidence in him. The few times that he did go his way, he didn't do anything. Against Seattle in the playoffs Brunell went to him on one of the first plays of the game and he flat out dropped it. That's not going to win you many more looks, fair or not. |
