brunell can get off the list for quite a while if he shows well this week. hall and frost are off until further notice.

arch and carter though.... lloyd and cooley have been quiet too, not bad, not scapegoat, but below expectations.

what the hack happened to frost? makes the coaching staff look like they know what they are doing. i didnt expect much out of aa, so my scapegoat, at least this week, is carter. pretty much non existant

Archuleta is numero uno on my list at the moment. He has yet to make a big play, and i see him getting plenty of tackles, which isn't a good sign for a db, and he got burnt yet again by Andre Johnson. I'm a little disappointed by Carter too, i'll give him a couple more games to make a sack or a play before i call him a waste of time.

The fact that Carter couldn't get to carr at least once puts him at the top of my list with a big fat bow on his head. He really has not shown me a single thing. At least Arch is usually close to where the play happens (although that's probably because he overran it); Carter gets himself out of the way double quick.

As for LLoyd, I thought he was making some nice down field blocks for the running game on Sunday, so that made me sort of happy I guess.

Arch and Cater, no doubt, are the biggest dissapointments.

I don't blame LLoyd--he's the outside WR and a deep threat. And he's not one of MBs comfort guys--they still are getting to know each other. So the juy is out there.

ARE is the real deal.

carter is really disappointing me. I mean, he's a physical freak right? why can't he get into the backfield? strength? technique? what the deal, yo?

yeah, lloyd's contract is a bit high for a good downfield blocker though.

he's not heavy enough and he only has one move (crappy hand stuff without real drive). I'd guess it's mainly due to the fact that he's a workout warrior (like arch) and not really a football player :/.

Ha, I'm just trying to look for some positives hee because it's not like the ball's really come his way all that many times downfield. The only one I really remember was at the end of the first game, but I think it was too far over his head for him anyways.

As far as Lloyd is concerned, I think he's caught MAYBE everything thrown his way, even the ones out of bounds. I really want to see Brunell throw a jump ball to him.

Re: The official Warpath scapegoat watch 2006

lloyd had a fumble and 15 yard penalty, but i don't think it's quite enough to warrant a listing... yet. his blocking has been above and beyond for a WR.

frost had another shank and his inconsistancy has kept him in the hunt. his good plays are good, his bad plays are REALLY bad.

the defensive secondary is DEFINATELY on the list. they played relatively well this week, but rumph and wright aren't starters, they're spare parts. rogers has yet to step up and has looked outmatched. The scouting dept/FO also gets a lot of the blame for total lack of depth and failure to address it while letting existing quality depth (harris, bowen, stoutmire) walk.

so:

-current scapegoats: secondary/secondary depth, and the FO that allowed it.
-on notice: frost, lloyd.

redeemed: arch, carter (combined 6 tak, 1 ast, 2 sacks - enough for at least a one week reprieve. Carter got a good matchup vs the weakest link in the jag's OL and GW put in burns for coverage a LOT to help arch not look like burnt toast regularly, hence the reprieve and not the dismissal).

Wow, in just a few short weeks the original scapegoat club has done a complete 180.

Karma baby, karma.

Even Andre Carter is trying to stay off the list
