Re: Skins sign kicker Shaun Suisham
suisham probably isn't the answer. we won't have the pick to take crosby, so unless there's a good FA kicker, vandy's the best we can do.

Re: Skins sign kicker Shaun Suisham
id rather have vander.

Re: Skins sign kicker Shaun Suisham
If Suisham has that good a leg maybe the skins should sign him and be patient with him. We all still remember how we blew Akers out of town for one miss. Vandy is the better guy for this year maybe but he's also 36 years old and the skins are not exactly in the midst of a super bowl run.
Ohh the Akers debacle....and the wounds just now healed too!!! |
Re: Skins sign kicker Shaun Suisham
probably another nick novak
|
Re: Skins sign kicker Shaun Suisham
comcast just reported that the team is NOT interested in vandy.
but ya never know with this organization. |
Re: Skins sign kicker Shaun Suisham
i say give the kid a legit shot, and maybe we can have ourselves a kicker for more than 1 or 2 seasons
|
Re: Skins sign kicker Shaun Suisham
remember when akers sucked ass and we released him?
maybe this is that sae thing, ya know they say history repeats it slf |
I think Vandy needs some time off for a few months. I think a lot of his problems right now are Chuck Knoblauch-esque. Who knows if he'll ever recover from that.
For those of us who don't follow baseball, Chuck Knoblauch did what now? I feel like my Dad watching a Dennis Miller special. Is it like when Dale Murphy was a catcher early in his career and couldn't throw the ball to second one day? |

Josh Brown? Matt Stover? |
Josh Brown? Matt Stover?
yeah, too bad we gave up the chance at vinetari and longwell. stover's old, but they could hold down the fort for a few years. brown talks too much smack for a kicker, but he's better than anything we've had as well. |
Re: Skins sign kicker Shaun Suisham
Suisham played some last year and this year for the Cowboys.
He is excellent at KO - guarenteed touchback. He is a young kicker and has his problems with long distance accuracy. He is Canadian and used to be an enforcer for his Junior B hockey team. I like him and thought the Cowboys could let him grow with them. Vanderjagt actually has a higher accuracy rate kicking outdoors than he does kicking indoors. The problem with him is that he just has a lot to say for a kicker. Add to that he has a problem with his form right now. everything is going right on him. He sneaked a 22 yarder in beside the right upright against Tampa. If he can get his head straight then he might be a steal. He is not good on kickoffs. He got one or two touchbacks for the Cowboys this year. m Usually his kicks land at the 7-13 yard line. He will try your patience though. He is cocky and arrogant. You can't be a kicker and be cocky and miss field goals. Not for Parcells, and I imagine not for Gibbs.
Thanks for the info on Suisham |

Re: Skins sign kicker Shaun Suisham
the article specifically states that vanderjagt is still on our radar
am I the only one who read this article? the article specifically states WE ARE NOT interested in vandy, which is another bad descision "The team did not make a waiver claim for Mike Vanderjagt, according to team sources, and do not intend to pursue the kicker who was cut Monday by the Dallas Cowboys." |
