Whether or not you agree with something, if you didn't write it should be clear that you didn't write it and-whenever possible-a link should be made to wherever the story came from |

I have a REALLY hard time understanding why you even consider the SKINS your team. |
Joe Gibbs probably made his quarterback switch decision a few weeks too late to have an impact on this lost Washington season, but at least he did it.
The move was about preparing for the future (hopefully about 10) seasons more than salvaging this season. With no defense, Portis or Moss, it's already a lost season. Campbell will get PLENTY of experience and I think the timing was fine. Brunell WOULD have been better for this year, for the postseason...but he can't take us there alone....so it's Campbell time. |

Where does this come from? Personally, from what I saw in the playoffs from Brunell last year, I was ready to start Campbell from day 1. It would have been rougher to start, but we'd be in a better position now. Would have forced the run game to stay going while he learned, and that in turn would help our D. |

Do you think things might have been different had Portis not gotten hurt that first preseason game? I mean, if he was healthy and able to carry the team like he essentially did at the end of last year that Gibbs would have been more comfortable putting Campbell in earlier? |

No. Gibbs made it pretty clear that Brunnell was the guy. I am not sure where I read it, but the consensus seemed to be that the team thought it was ready for a SB run. As such, Gibbs was going to go with his experienced QB to get them there and, remember, Brunnell was the QB when they made their playoff run last year. I am sure Gibbs thought Brunnell was the one to turn around the offensive woes again this year and only went to Campbell after becoming convinced Brunnell wasn't getting it done (two years ago, we went through the same thing before he put in Ramsey). |

In fairness to Gibbs the whole offense stunk Brunell's first year and Brunell was playing hurt. As for this season, no coach in the NFL would have went with Campbell to start the year in a new offense having never played. Brunell had a very good year last year. It's no coincidence that the offense went in the tank at the end of the season after his knee got hurt in the Giants game. While I thought Gibbs should have switched sooner, the timing seems to be good to me. the team as a whole is coming around. I would have hated to see Campbell loose his first several games and damage his confidence. This season is important, but the next ten are more important. |
Re: Oh Brother Gibbs Right Choice But Maybe Too Late ,thanks Old Man!
There was no way Campbell would have been ready to play week 1. Brunell grumbled about having to learn a pretty extensive new offense, I can't imagine tossing all that on a 2nd year guy and expecting him to carry the load right off the bat.
