Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
So does this mean that we have 6.72 milion extra in cap room for 2007?
no 6.72 less, but thats not true either, we need to know how his contract was restructured before we know how the cap is impacted. |
Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
I certainly hope they at least re-worked his deal to let him go?
#6 beats a blank, which is what we had with ARCH! I pray we learned a lesson from this deal....THE HARD WAY! BYE DEION |
We dont know, not untill we find out how they reworked his contract
We didn't rework his contract. The Bears did.
6.72 LESS cap room for 2007.
We gain cap room in all future seasons.
All right, well I'll take that granted we have enough room to sign our draft picks. Thanks for clearing that up GTripp |

Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
well it's good that bad move is over! Duckett and Arch.... moves we are paying for in money and draft picks in 07! Just keeps getting better!

I highly doubt that we would have dumped him unless we got some cap relief through a restructure. I can't see us taking a $7M cap hit this season. |

We can sign the No. 6 pick and 4 others with that. |
Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
What's going to be great is to see us play Chicago this season. It will be interesting to see if (a) he plays with fire and Lovie Smith can utilize him properly or (b) he gets burnt like toast by Campbell.

hope that works out! FO can't be o for three! Can they? |
Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
so just hope that leaves us with room for the draft picks. if not then no draft this yr and just trade all pick for future picks.. i know we were close to having that much in cap space. which espn link states in the first sentence of the 4th paragraph "To complete this complicated deal, the Bears had to rework his contract." so we have to see what the deal was but they did rework it. because by that statement the redskins wouldnt have went through with it until his contract was reworked to help out cap a little bit.
I highly doubt that we would have dumped him unless we got some cap relief through a restructure. I can't see us taking a $7M cap hit this season.
Schneed thinks that we have enough cap room to get all of our picks in even after eating Arch's full contract.
After looking at the numbers, I agree with him. It's going to be by the Skins of our teeth though. No pun intended. |

We can sign the No. 6 pick and 4 others with that.
Yeah, but teams usually keep about $1-$2M in reserve and we will likely sign a few more players right after the draft or June 1. |
