Re: How Dumb Does Pacman Jones Think We Are?
not one mention about the bouncer that is now paralyzed. he basically said he hasn't changed.
That's the best point I've seen in this thread. Someone is PARALYZED and you're bitching about how you're misunderstood. What a fucking idiot. |
Re: How Dumb Does Pacman Jones Think We Are?
I'm not trying to defend Pacman because what he did to that bouncer is awful, but I mean you can take a man out the "hood", but you can't take the "hood" out a man. I don't live in the hood but I increasingly believe that statement.

And you can justify just about any type of action with a statement like that. At some point, no matter where you come from, you're a man, and you're responsible for your own actions. Period. |
Re: How Dumb Does Pacman Jones Think We Are?
Look, I didn't say that he wasn't responsible. In fact he is probably even more responsible because he is such a high-profile athlete. I think that he and a lot of athletes now-a-days think that they have to "keep it real", and keep up the gangsta' persona. Or he could just be a TOTAL moron, or both, does anyone know if alcohol was involved?

Agreed, though I don't think I'll ever understand the mindset. |
Re: How Dumb Does Pacman Jones Think We Are?
i also saw the interview on NFL live, and Adam Jones comes across as someone who really could give a rats ass about any of this. not one mention about the bouncer that is now paralyzed. he basically said he hasn't changed. but i do agree with grim, that would have been an easy six for Jones
VERY GOOD POINT! He just doesn't have any remorse for anything he has done, and it shows that his mind is waaaay off. I wonder what this kid would do if he was banned from the NFL permanantly? I really see him in jail somewhere. Maybe a thief, maybe a rapist, who knows, but I know he is mentally "off" and those people are capable of anything. |

Well, you "can", but most don't want to because as someone pointed out, it's the persona they enjoy keeping up. Being an NFL star, life is easier on them in terms of what they do off the field. If he was a regular person, no athletic ties to anything, his ass would be rotting in jail. |

Some good news for Jones:

Does he think the cop was singling him out? I doubt he was! Jones seems to think he's above the law, and this is just another case. |

It doesn't appear anyone will, ESPN just reported that the Titans put a restraining order on Pacman Jones to not allow him to wrestle. No link yet, it was breaking news. |

It's funny that everyone talking about this are saying that Pacman Jones should fire his advisors, because they are not giving him sound advice. |

You have it wrong You can take the man out of the hood but you cannot take the hood out of the man if he does not want you to. Many of people leave the hood and never look back as they no there is nothing but trouble waiting there for them. Its one thing to go back and try and lend a helping hand as many do but to go back and hang out with the ones who will never change is where the problem lies. |
