Re: What Will It Mean if the Skins Win Sunday?
It will mean that if the Pack, Lions and Skins all finish 10-6 we get the WC. I'm not blind enough to believe that they will finish 15-1 and I doubt the Cowpokes will lose more than 3-4 so all games against NFC foes are big.

Re: What Will It Mean if the Skins Win Sunday?
It will mean this team is going in the direction we think it is, UPWARD! 4-1.
This is a BIG TEST on the road, this could be a HUGE NFC WIN! |
Re: What Will It Mean if the Skins Win Sunday?
It would be a road win against a fellow playoff contender. When was the last time that the Skins have done that? And I'm not counting Philly this year. Suffice it to say that it would be a huge win and confidence booster.

Re: What Will It Mean if the Skins Win Sunday?
I believe it will mean that we are a legit contender in the NFC, and quite possibly one of the top two teams in the NFC. Who's the other one? I'm not saying...LOL!

Re: What Will It Mean if the Skins Win Sunday?
To redskins fans like us it will mean that we finally have a good team, but to the media it will mean nothing, they will have there excuses and all you will hear about is how the packers lost the game, nothing about us winning it. Get used to it, Tony Romo can throw 5 int. in one game and fumble the ball away but still be labled a warrior because he brought Dallas back, which is a complete joke, Jason Campbell could throw for 350 yards and 4 TDs and still be labled an average QB, this is the life of a Redskins fan.

I don't know. I don't mean to disagree with you, but I thought everyone was giving Campbell nothing but love. |
Re: What Will It Mean if the Skins Win Sunday?
im am thinking the patriots though as our real yardstick

Re: What Will It Mean if the Skins Win Sunday?
At 8:00 p.m. on NFL Network they are going to tell everyone why the Redskins are going to beat the Packers. I just saw it scrolling across the bottom

Re: What Will It Mean if the Skins Win Sunday?
I wish they wouldn't do that, look at the Giants game

Re: What Will It Mean if the Skins Win Sunday?
To me at least the game this sunday isn't a big indication of how the league views us, but rather of how the redskins players will view themselves...
I think a win, or a strong performance, as a team and by individuals, could really be encouraging for the players (and coaches) and be a real confidence booster. On the other hand, an embarassing loss could really deflate the team and cause a snowballing panic effect. That to me is why this is a big game, not because we could be 3-2 or 4-1. I would like to see, regardless of the outcome, JC really step it up and show that he can pick apart a solid defense while committing few mistakes. I would also like to see our offense line come together as a unit and really stifle a daunting pass rush. Along with that I want them to really dominate the line of scrimmage so we can see positive gains on 80-90% of the running plays. It goes without saying but I want our D to continue to play together as a team and limit time of possession (turnovers would be nice too). If we can do these things, I am pretty confident that we will win the game and I will personally be assured that we are a legit team that will challenge for a playoff berth. |
Re: What Will It Mean if the Skins Win Sunday?
I don't buy that argument anymore. In fact, this whole thing floating around the media and even here on Warpath, they've only played so and so team, or next week is a real test...then when next week comes....the next week is a bigger test.
The same can be said about Dallas and New England, who have they played of stature? The truth is, the majority of the league is somewhere in the middle right now, and any given Sunday the outcome could swing either way. You play who's on the schedule and do your best.
Well you have to admit that both dallas and new england have beaten their opponents rather convincingly. Good teams who beat other teams regardless of their record get their deserved respect. Our team is on the verge of getting theirs too, but first they have to handle their buisness one Sunday at a time. That is what this team needs to do. And by doing that this team will be EARNING their way BACK to respectfulness, one ass beating at a time. |

Yes Skinsfan, I did see that game, and it was enough to make an onion cry, but the mark of a good team is your ability to come back from certain defeat. And dallas did that. Look I hate the cowboys just like everybody here on this site, but they appear to be the class of the NFC East right now. I think this Sunday we will finally see what our Skins are made of against a quality opponent. It has been a long off season, and we are only 1 quarter of the way through this season. Let's not get too carried away and anoint this team as world beaters yet. After last years 5-11 record I'm not so gung-ho for this team YET. But, they are gaining my trust and respect, one Sunday at time. That is what they need to do to gain the so called critics trust and respect. Go Skins! |
Re: What Will It Mean if the Skins Win Sunday?
Dammit! Way too early for this kind of talk. It's hard enough to wait 6 days between games right now w/o thinking of playoffs and shit. I like what S. Springs told reporters: "We ain't done nothin yet." I hope every guy on the team has that kind of attitude right now. We need everyone hungry.
IMO if we stay hungry the only games that will really challenge us for the rest of the season will be Dallas and NE, but if we're inconsistent like last year there's no telling how the season will go. |

No where. The history behind the Skins is, after a big win we get over-confident and go out and blow the next one. I REALLY hope we stay hungry. To me that is the component of a team you must keep in order to do good in this league. |
