We have holes. The Jets have more holes.

My nails have grown, I'll grab a six pack sit back and watch the outcome. Predictions are hard to come by right now. The Redskins know what they have to do, but knowing what you have to do and getting it done are two different things.

Re: The official Redskins Warpath prediction threadİ: Skins vs. Jets
.oO(Boy, how do I miss Brud's weekly breakdowns..)
This game will go a long way to see how much pride this Skins team really has, or if it was completely eaten by the Patriots monster. Injuries have been a recurring factor this season. Without Rogers, it'll be up to Smoot and Torrance/Macklin to step up and cover the likes of Coles, Cotchery and McCareins. Kellen Clemens, making his 2nd NFL start, is going to rely heavily on Thomas Jones and Leon Washington to carry the ball. The last start, he almost beat a very good Ravens defense. Portis and Betts need to take the pressure off of Campbell, and run the ball with wreckless abandon. Luckily for them, the Jets have the 27th ranked run defense (29th overall). I'd personally like to see Sellers in on short yardage situations, as he's a good receiver as well. These games always scare me. Weak non-conference team on the schedule, losers of 5 straight, with a gun slinger coming off the bench, and absolutely nothing to lose. Meanwhile, the hometown heroes have a pivotal game on their hands, a win and 5-3 moves mountains, while a loss and 4-4 could provide destruction going into a very tough stretch of games. The only game related prediction I'll make: Sean Taylor picks off Kellen Clemens late in the game to secure the win for the B&G. Skins 16 Jets 12 |

Re: The official Redskins Warpath prediction threadİ: Skins vs. Jets
The Redskins have a two-game winning streak starting with the first two games of the season. Winning and losing and winning and losing is pathetic and illustrates the basic fundamental issue I have with an unprepared team. Aside from the Patriots, I have not liked what I have seen with and what people have mentioned to me after going to the games. Jason Campbell to Cooley and Randle El has become the main targets and teams are adjusting to theses players after half time. with no consistent involvement of Caldwell, McCardell, and Lloyd have produced no TD's by any receiver this year. This team has become one dimensional and predictable. With that said, the Redskins win unconvincingly skins,17

Applying that standard to the NFL, the only teams that are not pathetic are the Colts and the Patriots. Pretty high bar if you ask me. |

In our conference there is Green Bay and New York who have more than four consecutive wins. If the Redskins were really a well-coached team they would be 6-1 respectfully. |

Even still, expecting a 6-1 record is setting the bar rather high. Could we be 6-1? Sure, but I wouldn't put that all on the coaches. The loss to Green Bay was undoubtedly the fault of the players, that is unless you blame Gibbs for Moss' inability to catch or hold onto balls, Portis' fumble, or several O-linemen getting injured. I also wouldn't put the loss to New England on the coaches as it seems that no one can beat them. It's questionable who should be blamed for the loss to the G-men. But, assuming the loss the G-men is on the coaches, that still means that the coaches have lost just 1 game for the team. So I am not quite sure why you are taking issue with the coaches if your sole concern is our record (as opposed to player and team stats). |

It is clear that loss to the Giants was a reflection of a team who didn't know what to do with a unneccessary timeout and the wrong RB in background on the goal. I think this time around for Gibbs has been a challenge a lesson about adaption and adjustment. If you don't adapt, you will become extinct and that's what our offense has almost become. |

I'll give you the Giants game as a reason to be unhappy with the coaches. But, if you only care about the W-L record, what other games are you unhappy about? You can't put the losses to Green Bay and New England on the coaches. The loss to Green Bay was squarely on the players and the loss to New England was all but inevitable. |
Re: The official Redskins Warpath prediction threadİ: Skins vs. Jets
This game, more than any so far this season, depends on JC. Looking at the raw statistics on how bad our rushing attack is and the obscene lack of intensity displayed by the o-line and our backs, this outcome of this game will fall heavily on the shoulders of JC and the passing game.
Facing NE last week he looked like a true rookie. I watched the game w/ my whole family and people were asking me if Campbell was injured because of his reaction time to the defense and because of the way he held the ball in and out of the pocket. I don't think he's hurt but the NE defense completely rattled him. Also, he struggled in the Arizona game a bit. So this one rests w/ JC. If his confidence in himself (or his receivers) is very low we will lose this game 6-18. If Campbell surges we'll win 24-18. By the way, anyone who doesn't see the Jets offense as a threat in this game is fooling themselves, badly. They don't give up on themselves or a game and we're sitting w/ a compromised 2nd corner in Smoot and jack shit behind him. If Springs goes down this season our d is F-U-C-K-E-D. |
Re: The official Redskins Warpath prediction threadİ: Skins vs. Jets
We either win this game bigtime because of coaching adjustments and better execution or we lose a nail biter that kills our season
Looking for a statement game. Skins win 31-10 |
Re: The official Redskins Warpath prediction threadİ: Skins vs. Jets
I'm really nervous about this game. It's never easy to win in the Meadowlands. Clemens has a big arm and could give them a boost. Plus Coles looks like he's gonna play. That said I do think our D will have a nice rebound game, but I'm not gonna believe in our offense until I see it. Redskins 17 Jets 13.

Re: The official Redskins Warpath prediction threadİ: Skins vs. Jets
I would like to see our defense play a LOT more aggressively this week facing this new QB...their first 2 possessions we should be blitzing a lot...just to keep him guessing throughout the whole game. I also want to see some kind of life from this offense....i don't care if we run the ball 45 times or throw it 45 times.....as long as it scores TD's and/or sustains drives!
I really feel (and really hope) that the coaching staff and the players, will regain their pride this week....regardless of who we are playing....and show themselves and all of us just what they are made of as a team. I think they will.... Redskins - 24 Jets - 6 |
