Re: Hamas endorses Obama
I wouldn't be too worried about Israel. First, the Israelis have the best military in the Middle East. Second, the last time other countries tried to invade Israel they got their asses handed to them. Third, unlike last time, the Israelis have nukes. They're fine. They don't need our military assistance.
This reasoning assumes no nukes on the part of their enemies. Only we can guarantee a a devestating response to a detonated nuke inside Israel. That's why we are a necesaary part of the equation. |

I don't really think Israel has to worry too much about nukes. No Arab nation is dumb enough to nuke Israel. They know what would happen to them if they did; either the U.S. or the Israelis would turn that country's sand into glass. If you're worried about terrorists getting their hands on nukes, there's not much the President can do about that. If terrorists are determined to nuke Israel, do you think they will actually be deterred by threats of retaliation? Finally, do you think any Muslim would actually nuke Israel when so many Muslim holy sites are located inside Israel? Again, I think the Israelis can handle their own affairs and, in any case, I doubt any U.S. President will ever abandon them. |

It would be less important to me that they perceived deterrence than that a response took place, for all the others to see. Any nation or group that uses these weapons has to be obliterated for the sake of the future. |

Does that mean we need to be obliterated? :( Seriously though, I think the world knows what would happen if someone used a nuke on us or Israel. |
Re: Hamas endorses Obama
Our detonation was a benevolent detonation...it saved lives. Besides, in wars somebody has got to die, might as well be them...right?
You lot talk of Israel as if it's a wonderful country. This is your tax dollars at work: |

Speaking for myself, I don't think I addressed whether we should or should not support Israel.

Well your arguement about Muslims not attacking because of holy sitea has been blown out the window in Iraq. They don't care as we have seen in Iraq. |

Unfortunately not all holy sites are equal. The Ka'ba in Mecca and and Al Aqsa Mosque in Palestine are the holiest of them all for all Muslims. |

Any attempt to ignore me will prove futile. |
