Re: Thinking about getting rid of my tickets for the Eagles Game
I think the 'Skins won some very exciting games this year (NO, Arizona, the Eagles twice, and the Cowboys in Texas). And I agree with the comment about Portis...remember, we traded Champ Bailey and a No. 2 draft choice for a guy with an ego so big that he put himself over the team. He had negative comments about the offiensive line, then put Jim Zorn on the hotseat just because he wasn't in the game against the Ravens. Now all I hear on the radio sports talk shows is "Will Zorn be here next year or will he be fired?" I say get rid of Portis. Sorry for bringing this up on this tread, but I'm really bothered by this.

Portis isn't going anywhere with his cap #.

Went to the game and I would've hated myself forever if I hadn't. It was a great time and that ending was spectacular.

Portis = overrated and over the hill

I'm convinced you're Jim Zorn or a very close relative of his. |
The Redskins don't really deserve to have anyone go watch their games at this point. The sad part is I don't think most of them even really care how much of a disgrace they are.
Oh, Eagles fans will buy your tickets, that's for sure.
So do you still feel this way and if so which players don't even care? |

Nope, but I wish I had his flat top. Portis is a warrior, just doesn't have the talent everyone thinks he has (at least in my eyes) Riggo said the same thing last night. |
Portis = overrated and over the hill
1400 yards without the support of a consistent passing game, PLUS the injuries (Grade 2 MCL Sprain), and you say he's over the hill??? I'll take my chances with that production from a RB any day. If Zorn's WCO passing game becomes a factor next year, I would look for Portis to get 1,700+ yards. The man didn't gain an easy yard this entire season.

He put up good numbers while battling injuries all year... I give him credit for that. But he leaves a lot of yards out there because he lacks explosiveness and speed....just my opinion. |

I think you have explosiveness mixed up with speed. He has explosiveness but lackes speed when he does get out in the open. If he did not have explosiveness he would not have 1400 yards this year. |
Re: Thinking about getting rid of my tickets for the Eagles Game
nice to hear that. im alil worried about the skins faithful leaving us under-manned next week but it is against the eagles. maybe now we will play with a lil bit of reckless abandon like we did after week 1. i just hope we play with some intensity cuz it will suck going to the game and watchin the skins put up another egg.
ps - if i had to drive 5 plus hours one way i probaly wouldnt go, you my friend are a super fan for doing so, danny doesnt deserve your sense of loyalty. just know years from now when we go to the SB you will feel more joy then the others who choose not to be there during the tough times. times like these make the good times taste that much sweeter. plus when we beat the eagles we get to watch first hand all teh iggles fans crying over their lost season like we are doing here now.
Good call Mountain. |

No, I know the difference. Let me clarify though. I don't think he has explosiveness through the hole I know he is hurt, but he got caught from behind by a D-linemen yesterday on one play. If he is that hurt he shouldn't be playing. |
Re: Thinking about getting rid of my tickets for the Eagles Game
My feeling about Portis hasn't changed...He criticized the offensive line when maybe the offensive line should have criticized him. For example, I've never seen Portis break any tackles like Adrian Peterson. And this year he didn't have any long runs that he created. Now he's mad because he didn't get 1,500 yards. As far as playing hurt, well, I'm sick of hearing about his aches and pains. He didn't run to win for the team, he ran to get yards for himself. Bring back Champ Bailey! Gibbs, why did you make that trade?
