ANOTHER Brennan thread? Stop. Please. Just stop.
Thank you. |
Changing the thread title. Seriously people, let's improve these thread titles. They should be a bit more descriptive. I saw "Colt Brennan" (the 3rd or 4th thread here with that exact title) and I thought maybe there was some breaking news, like he had been promoted to #2 QB for the remainder of the season.
Thread titles are definitely lacking in quality lately. We need to step it up. |
Re: Should We Give Brennan Playing Time Now?
I wish they would throw Colt in there against Philly just to shut up all the Colt is the greatest fans and maybe we wouldn't have these threads anymore.

Re: Should We Give Brennan Playing Time Now?
Put Vinny in behind center and see if we get a new line.

Re: Should We Give Brennan Playing Time Now?
We need to consider giving Colt playing time without the automatic assumption that it means he'd be threatening Campbell's job. He's a young, developing QB who could play an important role years down the road if Campbell gets hurt (assuming JC will be the QB then, which we all know he won't). The season is over, why not give young 2nd and 3rd stringers a chance to play? At the very least it will give us a reason to watch.

Re: Should We Give Brennan Playing Time Now?
Since the season is basically over and there is no hope in making the playoffs, why not let Colt Start against the 49ers and see what he can do? It's a great opportunity to see if he can run our offense since Campbell hasn't really done too much.
Jason isn't the problem. Collins is the No.2. And from what i saw at training camp, Colt isn't ready. And Zorn isn't planning to give up the last 2 games. |
Re: Should We Give Brennan Playing Time Now?
Look, let's be real. Colt is a next season project. As for right now, I wouldn't mind seeing Collins get some playtime. Since I wanna see the Skins play spoiler against the Eagles, let JC start Sunday. But in the SF I'd like to see Collins have a go.

Re: Should We Give Brennan Playing Time Now?
Yes, if nothing more then to light a fire under JC's butt and hope that he has a Tavaris Jackson like turnaround.
Haven't we discussed this in about a million other threads in the past 2 weeks? IT AINT GONNA HAPPEN! GET OVER IT!
Lol... If we continue to play the way we have, the Eagles are going to blow us out, meaning we will probably see Collins come in for mop-up duty. |
Re: Should We Give Brennan Playing Time Now?
Exactly, which is why we ought to leave Campbell in. I don't think we know what he's truly capable of yet, and though one game probably won't show us a whole lot, there's no reason not to leave him in and see if he can start to build some kind trust with his younger receivers.
When the hell are we going to find out about Campbell then? Gibbs sure pulled the plug on Ramsey rather quick. I mean do you think Campbell is all of a sudden is going to become a stellar QB in a span of 2 weeks. Campbell is an average QB. Guy has almost as much time under center for us as Frerotte had and more than what Ramsey had, so why do you think another year or two is going to make Campbell. Shit, Ryan looks better than JC and he is a rookie, and Flacco is only a half step below JC as a rookie. Damn, how long do we have to play the bastard to find out if he is a wash or not? He will be the starter in '09, but if we suck, Brennan will end the season starting. Since we are a total mess more than likely '09 will be another subpar season. Count on JC not being resigned as his asking price will be higher than what he is worth. THe JC experiment is coming to a close. |

Still tends to give away who he is throwing to, locking on to one guy, is slow in decision making often, and has not shown me any leadership at the helm of the offense or any emotion. What this team needs is at least a small group of gamers that want to step it up and be leaders. JC is just an average QB collecting a paycheck. Too bad we can't clone Sammy Baugh, for if we could we would kick some ass!!!!!!! |
Re: Should We Give Brennan Playing Time Now?
Only put Colt in if we have turned the page on Campbell, otherwise that would cause more problems then it would help. Not to mention with the weakness of our line currently putting in a New qb would do nothing but run the risk of shell shocking that player.

Well said, and on that note another Colt thread down the drain. |
