Thanks for the heads up on the bar. Wish I could find a Skins bar in town that was kid friendly.
No problem. I'm not sure if they're cool with kids on game day, they might be cool with it since it's technically a restaurant. To be honest, I went there a lot for trivia, pre-kickball drinking, etc but I never watched any Skins games there since my buddy had Sunday Ticket and a big screen but I've heard good things.

I drive through every day on the way to work and home. My office is on Cedar Road about 1 mile before city hall. This area has really grown over the years. Are you from the Deep Creek area? |
Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
I'm so freakin pumped. This day has been the longest day I have ever had to deal with. Almost SKINS TIME BABY!!!

Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
I know seriously. When I wear a jersey I have to wear two shirts the jersey and a undershirt, just gets to damn itchy without one. I am not scared of what the Raven's fans are going to say to me. Plus I have been there two times with Skins gear. One pre-season game in 05 (? or 04) and last years regular season, no one said shit.
Dude -- just yanking your chain. But, seriously, if you worried about being too hot, just get one of the pink jerseys. I hear they are much cooler, perfect for your temprement. I keed I keed. I just want football!!!!! |

Yeah I graduated from Deep Creek. We used to have a pretty good rivalry didn't we firstdown? :) |
Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
note: stolen from a different board, modified for here.
For nearly eight whole months, you tried to suppress it. You tried different homemade therapies to minimize your cravings. There were those sneak peaks during the combine. You allowed some excitement when Haynesworth signed Cheers when Orakpo was signed in the draft. Then Cursed the FO when our OLine hadn't changed Pill popping Excedrin Migraine caplets became the norm while reading one Terl tweet… twirp… whatever… after another. The regular season still hasn’t arrived yet, but the first preseason game is just a few short hours away. The miniature Clinton Portis/Dexter Manley/Sam Huff cries out from the back of your skull, “IT AIN’T REAL FOOTBALL!!!!!!!”, but the tiny Joey T/Darrell Green squatting in your nostrils whispers that it certainly smells like it though. It pulls at your gut. For half a second, you say it's only hunger pains. Your stomach yells, “UNCLE!” after downing that fifth drumstick and you regrettably concede, “That’s ain’t it, dang it!”. There aren’t enough cotton balls to shut out Hank Williams Jr. ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL! FOOTBALL! FOOTBALL! FOOTBALL! FOOTBALL! Pack it in ladies and gentlemen. Give up. Surrender to temptation. The Washington Redskins are about to take the field again. And even though it’s a glorified scrimmage, the relief flowing over you is a good thing. Be happy. Your stomach sure will be. { BURP! } |

Yes I'd say Deep Creek would have fallen right behind Churchland for us. What year did you Grad. I was 1983. |

Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
I'm not too worried about it, I lived in the city for a year and I probably wear a Skins hat 90% of my non-work time, plus it's preseason so it's not like it really matters.
Side note - if you want a Redskins bar in Baltimore with good food, check out Sly Fox Pub in Fed Hill. Yes you do and you have really seen this area change over the years. We spent alot of time in Deep Creek back in the 70's and 80's on a friends farm the Lindsay stables (might have been called something a little different). They had a house off dominion that had a big lake which was great for swiming and fishing all summer. |

I must admit, I liked those days better. I actually knew a guy who got electrocuted at the lake you're talking about. He was trying to steal copper or something. |

I know what your saying and when I grew up wher Chesapeake Sq Mall is located was all woods were we would ride dirt bikes and go 4x4. MY parents still live there and are lucky to live on a dead end and you would never know that within a 1/2 mile there is a mall. I cannot remember anything around the lake worth stealing but on the farm they built large walk in refrigerators and that would make sense with stealing copper. |
