Re: Would you rather be 0-2
I'm surprised nobody has brought up parallels with the many Ravens teams that had anemic offenses and pretty much won due to defense and Matt Stover.
The redskins defense will need to start producing more sacks and turnovers that lead to points before those comparisons can start. |
Re: Would you rather be 0-2
the goal is to win. we did that yesterday.
No disrespect dude, but that's a lame fall back excuse for a team that is really really struggling. I'll take the win of course, and I'm glad we're not 0-2, but I have basically no confidence in our offense. Have you looked at the second half of our schedule? We're gonna get kicked into the dirt if we don't turn it around. Fortunately we play some less than stellar teams over the course of the next month. We'll see. |
Re: Would you rather be 0-2
Tell you what, we lose to the Lions Sunday and the shit will officially hit the fan. I don't care how they get a W, even if Zorn has to suit up himself, the Skins better leave the Motor City with a W.
|
Re: Would you rather be 0-2
I think the best thing about yesterday by far is the fact that the team is starting to really believe that it can move the ball up and down the field and secondly, they got to see yet again that they look like a bunch of clowns in the redzone.
They have to hate looking like clowns and getting that kind of fan reaction. Fix the problem! Everyone will be happy. |

Yup. It's a MUST win on several levels. |

Or whatever else it takes to trade in some FGs for TDs. |

I think the redzone play calling is to predictable. The only play i thought we were gonna see down there that we didnt was a WR screen to Moss. |
Re: Would you rather be 0-2
I'd rather not be 0-2. I'd rather not be in debt. I'd rather not be living surrounded by douchebags. Reality is, however, different than what I'd rather. So...1-1, I'll take it. If the Redskins lose to the Kittens (not a chance) I'll still watch the next game. I'm just glad to be able to watch Redskin football and hope the team competes and of course beats the snot out of Dallas later in the year. I'm sure Zorn feels pretty shitty about his horrible play calling too. Let's see if this motivates him to raise his game to a higher level or if it breaks him to the point where we need to find a new coach. I hope he finds his stride. I don't think this offense is as far away as some think. Hope.

Who cares about drives, or the fact that last year we didn't even get in the red zone, blah blah blah. So I raised the stakes. The ultimate point is to win, I gives a hoot in the final tally if it's 31-26, 16-7, 33-31, or 9-7. We scored more, we won. IF we had needed a FG and our last two drives stalled at the 4, and we lost, I am all with ya. But We didn't, We NEEDED to make the Rams drive the whole field. so I made the bottom line statement. we won. |
Re: Would you rather be 0-2
Agreed about what history says. Speaking of history, going to back the second half of last season, we're 3-7, and seem to have all of the same problems with nearly identical personnel. Turnovers are few, sacks seem awfully tough to come by, we can't score touchdowns to save our lives, and we have an old, injury prone O-line with terrible depth.
I was listening to 980am today on the way home from BWI, and I've spent the last hour or so reading this board. I've seen and heard a bunch of "it's only 2 games" comments. It's not 2 games, it's 10. No more excuses. Kevin Sheehan said how "we're so close to finding those game changing sacks and turnovers," and "getting hung up on only scoring 9 points is a shortsighted view." I strongly disagree. The time is now. This current regime has had 9 preseason and 18 regular season games to figure it out, and it's not coming together. This isn't horseshoes. I don't give a damn about "close." I'm SO SICK of hearing crap like, "gosh our offense can really move the ball, but..." No more buts. We don't score. We just don't. Points win games, not yards. It needs to change right away. I think Zorn's leash can be measured in inches, not feet right now. Get it together or get out JZ. My patience is gone.
This post is excellent. It is exactly how I feel about the Jim Zorn Redskins of this year and last year. Yes, the sky is not falling. I am not panicking. I am frustrated to see a talented Redskins team not perform up to their talent level. That is on the coaches and the players. Many people get upset on this site when the Redskins do not get the respect from the national media in power rankings or other print. Well taking a "win is a win" attitude is not going to gain you respect. Playing good/sound football will. Even if you lose to a really good team but you play well, there is nothing to be ashamed of. I was embarrassed as a Redskins fan on Sunday. I hope not to say this against the Lions. I hope the offense finds its spark and the pass rush becomes consistent and ferocious. We are so close to being a really good team. Campbell and Zorn's necks are stretched out right now. It is do or die time for them as Redskins. |
Dang some of you guys should just go slide down a razor into a bottle of alcohol, or just jab a pencil in your eye, maybe have a friend kick you between the legs. We won nothing else we can do but watch and enjoy the rest of the season. There are alot of things I could sit around and bitch about with the skins but what good does that do? Nothing, life is to dam short to get all mad over a win at that.
Amen to that. :food-smil |
Re: Would you rather be 0-2
WTF..? No, I'll take the 1-1 and keep on truckin..... But thanks for asking such a dumb question.
I'll just have to settle for that ugly win vs. an ugly loss. |
Re: Would you rather be 0-2
I'd rather have some free toppings on my Papa John's Pizza. GD Jim Zorn, he knows I like olives.

Re: Would you rather be 0-2
We can 9-7 our way to the Super Bowl for all I care.
