Re: Big Ben gets 4-6 games
I find it funny that Tim Hasselbeck, who's married to Elizabeth from the View, is taking a stand for Ben on account that he hasn't been formerly charged.

Re: Big Ben gets 4-6 games
^ Saw that. I really hate hearing a continuing catch phrases used by the media, including Tim Hasselback, "poor judgement" and the other "making bad desicions".

Re: Big Ben gets 4-6 games
So I did my best GTripp impression and it turns out if Ben was a baseball player he would have been banned for a minimum of 40 games and a maximum of 61 games.

Re: Big Ben gets 4-6 games
I was expecting 3, so 4 is a tough penalty in my opinion. I also think there is quite a bit more that we don't know about, Ben sounds like he has some real problems. The Steelers could realistically be 1-3 by their break, and have 2 weeks to let Ben rejoin the team before their 5th game. Playoffs might be tough to make for Pittsburgh this year.
If I was Buffalo or Oakland, I would jump at the chance for Roethlisberger for just a 1st round pick. If he does straighten out, he should be a Hall-of-Famer. |
Re: Big Ben gets 4-6 games
I expected Ben to get some form of punishment from the Commish but not 4-6 games since he wasn't charged or convicted. It demonstrates he's holding true to his word about getting serious with problem players. He may have gotten an indefinite suspension had he been actually convicted.

Re: Big Ben gets 4-6 games
I think Ben's rap sheet looks a lot worse behind closed doors then what we know.
I think the Steelers will deal him today. San Francisco or Seattle. |
Re: Big Ben gets 4-6 games
Does Tim Tebow look like a potential Steeler now?

Re: Big Ben gets 4-6 games
Article says, "Someone identified only as "a close friend of a Steelers player" said that the reason Roethlisberger had a bodyguard was because of an incident where a man put a gun to Roethlisberger's head because Roethlisberger was involved with the man's girlfriend."

OTL: Repairing Ben Roethlisberger's Reputation - ESPN Video - ESPN
Nice video....very eye opening. It is amazing how this kind of stuff happens but because the players are insulated and protected by the team and the league these kind of things get swept under the rug. What amazed me most is the part where most of the bar/restaurant employees and management declined to be named or interviewed on camera but most them said Ben was arrogant and rude to employees and other patrons. That Ben expected not only himself but his entire entourage to be comped free food and drink. This guys is a multi-millionaire and expects to be comped? What a ......douche bag. I see now why the Steelers are considering trading him |
Re: Big Ben gets 4-6 games
i don't understand some people thinking the punishment was too harsh, or not understanding why there is a suspension when there is no conviction. there is one thing we know for sure from this incident, and that is that this douche bag who thinks can do what ever he wants tried to bang an underage drunk college student in a womens bathroom of a bar.
we are talking about a starting nfl qb and face of a franchise as well as a face of the nfl, and he tried to pull this crap off. how can you think he deserves anything less thn six games. the more and more that come out about him makes him come off as more and more of a d-bag. hopefully this dumbass can get his crap together and not make an ass out of himself and the nfl, because if there is another incident i can easily see him getting suspended for close to a whole season. i held my judgement until the facts came out(or atleast what we now know) and i actaully gave him the benifit of doubt at first, but now i just get the feeling like he is another jackass who has no respect for any other person much less some drunk random at a bar. |
Re: Big Ben gets 4-6 games
I think Ben is lucky to get suspended for only 4-6 games. One cop lost his job and the off-duty ones serving as Big Ben's bodyguards might lose their's.

What an effed up mofo

Re: Big Ben gets 4-6 games
While he is an effed up mofo I do see how it would be real easy to get that way. He was probably the star QB in HS getting all the girls and all the guys wanted to be his buddy. Then the same thing in college and Ben never had to work on social skills because he was getting a pass because he was the star QB. Now that he is in the real world he got his pass but his pass has finally expired. The people he is now asulting and insulting are older and know his behavor sucks and are over it. Pits should drop his ass and maybe then he might wake up and realize the world does not revolve around him and also learn how to treat people (esp. girls).
