Re: Pinneapple Jesus vs. the new qb's brought in
I'm still trying to figure out how we signed Grossman and I just realized it when we signed McNabb. The only thing I can figure is I saw the thread and figured it was another "What If" thread and just ignored it.

Re: Pinneapple Jesus vs. the new qb's brought in
I heard that Colt doesn't really care if he's #2, #3, or the back up punter. Apparently he's a nihilist.

I wonder if he owns a marmot. |
Re: Pinneapple Jesus vs. the new qb's brought in
Ok...born 8/16/83. So he is 26 now and 27 when the season starts. So in my theory he would be 30 in 2014 (not 31) when we may think about replacing McNabb. A I guess my main point is that if we are going to bother grooming someone he should be 22 not 27.player Colt's age should already be at least a #2 QB. I think if he is not good enough to beat out Grossman this summer then we should move on.
This will be Colt Brennan's 3rd season, last year spent almost entirely on the IR. I agree that if he does not surpass Rex Grossman on the depth chart at some point this season, his stint in DC will most likely be over. If CB does step up and beat out RG for the 2nd QB spot on the roster, then I believe that he would have earned the "QB to Groom" spot. I see nothing wrong with his age. In 3-4 years supposing that he was still on the roster, It would be for a VERY good reason. The only reason CB would be on the roster in 2014 is to be the starter or just taking over the reins ala Kevin Kolb. |

I just think he's getting a little old to be lingering around as a #3 QB. |

LOL, it's funny to think we actually think 26 is "getting a little too old". In reality Brennan is a long shot, more likely to get cut than become the next Joe Montana, but I'd love for him to do it! |

Re: Pinneapple Jesus vs. the new qb's brought in
I'm just amazed at how some folks on hear seem so vehemently against CB15, almost to the point of anger. Like he smashed off their girlfriends or something. Hating is a weakness.
BTW- I would love for the guy to be the heir apparent to McNabb. Although not probable...it is possible. |
Re: Pinneapple Jesus vs. the new qb's brought in
Daryl Clark is a marginal threat to beat out Pineapple Jesus. Colt will be suiting up for us next year.

Ironically though I like Clark. He has the numbers, size, and other attributes I like in a QB. |

Then again, he could be State's version on Brad Banks from Iowa (although with better size). |
Re: Pinneapple Jesus vs. the new qb's brought in
Clark is decent, but if JC can't hack it Clark won't. THe complete body of work isn't so hot for Darryl in 2009. Joe Elliot from Purdue was a much better QB, and he wasn't even signed after the draft!!!!! Colt is safe I think for as long as Shanny wants him. Grossman will be gone after this season and Shanny drafts a QB to take over for Donovan. That is what I think the case will be.

Re: Pinneapple Jesus vs. the new qb's brought in
Colt Brennan was a decent sixth round pickup with some upside who was offered every opportunity to win the no. 2 job last year for Zorn. He didn't come through, then he ended up on IR, and now he's entering the prime years of his career as a third stringer.
I don't think we're going to keep 3 QBs this year, although if we do, Colt's the odds on favorite to hold the job. He's not going to ascend the depth chart and his chances of ever throwing an NFL pass are basically nil beyond this season. |

Shanny is going to draft a QB in 2011 or 2012, I am sure he wants to shore up the O line before he gets his guy in here. Brennan isn't "his" guy just as much as JC wasn't "his" either. Brennan is going to be like Sage Rosenfel for us til his contract is up. |
