Re: Redskins Have An All-Time Record In Their Sights
If it's week eight then why are we only using stats from the first 6 weeks. Oh, that's right because it will dilute the stats.
How is this for a stat? Through those first 6 weeks our D face a top 10 offense 4 times. The other 2 matchups were against number 11 and number 22. We haven't exactly been playing teams that cannot move the ball.
Or because the thread was started prior to week seven |

Lets call it the Glen Williams effect

Re: Redskins Have An All-Time Record In Their Sights
Excuse the hell out of me for not catching that. Even at week 7 my argument was valid.

Re: Redskins Have An All-Time Record In Their Sights
The yards allowed stat is less important than the turnovers caused, turnover ratio and the scoring defense stats. If a D can give their offense a few extra shots with the ball, that greatly increases that teams chances of winning. Unless of course, your offense sucks. I think ours will slowly progress as the season goes on.

I think a more complete picture would be given if how many opposing teams' drives ended in punts, FGs, turnovers and TDs were analyzed together.

Re: Redskins Have An All-Time Record In Their Sights
That would be a nice thing to do, but that is a lot of analyzing.
