Re: Does Last Nights Comment Proves That There's An Anti-Redskin Movement At ESPN?
An "anti-Redskins movement??" lol. Please. They hate on the Skins sometimes, but it's pretty well deserved. We're a joke for the most part. Cowboys are, too.
Yeah, but I've never seen them openly hope one team loses to take another team off the hook. |
Re: Does Last Nights Comment Proves That There's An Anti-Redskin Movement At ESPN?
The Skins losing and being a laughing stock points to only one person. Ever since he has owned the team he has made the Skins a laughing stock. And yes I am talking about Snyder. Since he has bought the team they have made 2 playoff appearances (I think). He has tried to buy a Championship every year and can't even get us to the playoffs. Here are a few of is idiotic examples:
1. In either his first or second year as owner he helped bring Deion Sanders to the team. This was of a couple years after his "Prime Time". 2. Most his choices or decisions concering the coaching staff for the most part has been awful. The teams front office is just as much of a joke as anything else. Other than Coach Gibbs, there hasn't been a coach to make it more than 3 years. Unfortunately, it's not all the coaches fault. Some of the coaches that have left are actually doing well with their other teams which proves that Snyder has no business running a NFL Team. 3. Signing the $100 Million Dollar Idiot who hasn't produced since he has been there. He his fat and lazy but smart enough to know that Snyder has sucker written all over his forehead when he signed him. 4. Then signing McNabb. That was probably the biggest mistake of all. He is injury prone and well past his prime. Why do you think that Philly was so happy to see him go? This is just a few of his embarrassing moments he has done to make the Skins the laughing stock of the NFL. It's not the team itself. The blame falls solely on him. He is another Jerry Jones. What do these teams have in common? Both teams are in trouble because of their owners. Snyder has no business owning an NFL Team. He is trying to build a team with money and not looking at the actual root cause which is the foundation. The Skins haven't had a solid foundation since he bought them. He's like a kid with ADHD. If the team doesn't produce within the first 2 years, then he makes changes ALL over hoping for better results. The only person he really gave a chance to was Coach Gibbs. Unfortunately, Coach Gibbs didn't really have what was needed to deal with the NFL players of today. And then he had the "Best" (sarcasm here by the way) defensive coordinator in the league with Greg Williams who took a team whose defense was ranked #2 his first year and started changing personnel. And this personnel was there before he got there. The defensive ranking slipped each year to nearly the bottom of the NFL under his control. He said his defense could be used with any personnel. So he started getting rid of the key players like Arrington, Trotter, Smoot, Bailey and so on. As he did the defense slipped. He tried to prove his system would work without them, but he horribly failed. He tried to prove his system would work with anyone and it failed. These are just some of things Snyder has done to make the Skins a mockery of the NFL. I know a lot of you won't agree with my statements. And I am stating most of this from memory so I might be a little off on a few things. I just know that ever since Snyder has bought the team, they have gone downhill. They used to be a contender every year for the playoffs. Now they seem to be more like a stepping stone or speed bump. Unfortunately, we will never be able to get rid of Snyder. But in my opinion he is the root cause of MOST of problems. Maybe one day he will wake up and realize that the changes need to start with HIM!!!! |

Maybe one day he will wake up and realize that the changes need to start with HIM!!!!
Would you rather have Buffalo's Ralph Wilson, or Jacksonville's Wayne Weaver? Both of those teams are in danger of being sold and moved because of there owners. I'll take Dan Snyder over probably about half the NFL owners. There is no question he has made bad decisions in the past (many of them) but I have always viewed them as honest attempts to improve the team. Some will say the big FA's he brings in are to sell tickets but I don't buy into that. |
Re: Does Last Nights Comment Proves That There's An Anti-Redskin Movement At ESPN?
I will agree with you that he has made attempts to improve the team. And I don't agree that he is ONLY trying to sell tickets and put butts in the seats. I also think he is a HUGE fan and I think that is where the problem is. He is trying to be an owner and a fan. I wonder if he is letting the fan in him influence his decisions as an owner and vice versa. He let his friend (grrr..can't remember his name) be the general manager and the guy had absolutely NO NFL experience or football for that matter. Put it this way, would you let a plumber fix your car if the plumber has never even worked on your car before? I think when Snyder bought the team he looked at it in 2 ways. First, he said,"Wow. I can buy an NFL team that I have always been a fan of!" Then he thought,"I can also make a huge amount of money while I'm at it too!!!!" I think that is where the problem lies. I think he needs to just be an owner Monday thru Saturday and then be a fan on Sundays like the rest of us.
And about the FA's (Sanders and his turf toe, McNabb who Philly easily gave up, and the $100 Million Dollar Zero who has caused more problems than any other player in the history of the Redskins) he's signed. I can't honestly say that putting butts in seats wasn't part of the reason for any of these signings. I can say that, in my opinion, NONE of them contributed anything to the team except for a financial burden. ALL of them were washed up when they got here and will be when they leave. Why he keeps signing has beens is beyond my understanding? Unless it is just to fill seats. |
Re: Does Last Nights Comment Proves That There's An Anti-Redskin Movement At ESPN?
No "movement" but they've always played up and made up the negative about the Skins...while worshiping Dallas and ignoring their faults and failures.
There's always been a very clear bias against us. This is why I avoid them if I can. Love the NFLN...but CSN Washington is my source of choice. |
Re: Does Last Nights Comment Proves That There's An Anti-Redskin Movement At ESPN?
I don't think there's a team out there who's fans feel there is no bias against their team. Kinda funny if you listen to NFL radio enough, all fans feel slighted at some point for whatever reason.

Re: Does Last Nights Comment Proves That There's An Anti-Redskin Movement At ESPN?
If the Skins started winning they be all over their jock. If McNabb lite it up this year; you don't think Sports Center and company would be highlighting him every second?
People like winners so SC and company highlight winners. Do you really thing they are going to start off SC with a highlight of Clippers vs. Wizards from the previous night? |
Re: Does Last Nights Comment Proves That There's An Anti-Redskin Movement At ESPN?
I actually don't think what they said is what he ment to say. I think he was trying to say that Dallas hopes they gte them off the hook. He may be a Dallas fan and let it slip out but other then that there is really nothing to it.
They have left the skins off the fastest 3 minutes in sports the past two weeks. |

You really think McNabb was his worse decision? I don't even think it was his dicision. |
Re: Does Last Nights Comment Proves That There's An Anti-Redskin Movement At ESPN?
I'm pretty sure Shanahan would want out or be sent out if Snyder interfered with him. He just has that demeanor that he is won't back down from from anyone, and that includes the owner.
After all, why the hell would he even bother to look at all the games JC had ever played before shipping his ass if Snyder was really calling ALL the shots? |
Re: Does Last Nights Comment Proves That There's An Anti-Redskin Movement At ESPN?
I honestly can't believe that people actually think a network, one the size of ESPN has an actual bias against the Redskins. This is absolutely hillarious. You people really need to get a grip.
As far as being fans of teams like the Patriots, Eagles, Steelers....well lets see why! THE WIN EVERY YEAR! As far as the Cowboys thing goes, well they were suppose to have a superbowl team, host the superbowl, have one of the most outspoken owners in all of sports. come on people, you really need to lay off the world is out to get the Redskins. REmember when the it was the 49ers, the Giants, the Redskins, Bills always winning, i do remember those teams being the majority of the football talk on the networks. |
Re: Does Last Nights Comment Proves That There's An Anti-Redskin Movement At ESPN?
Moving on ........ who f***ing cares what ESPN says .... just WIN BABY

So one dope utters a meaningless comment and the entire network has a bias? c'mon now, that's just silly
