Late on the butter discussion but Country Crock is legit.

I like it
From now on we should just refer to bumps and duplicates as "groundhog" |
Re: Nike Pro Combat Uniforms NFL 2012
It's pretty funny because we always get on people for reposting the last couple years instead of bumping similar threads. Not it feels like people bump just to bump. It's different to bump if the thread is now newsworthy (ex an update on the Burress situation).

Re: Nike Pro Combat Uniforms NFL 2012
Wait a minute...is Country Crock making uniforms for the NFL now? I haven't been on The Warpath in a while now so you'll have to excuse me for reading a thread that's actually a repeat AND for NOT knowing about Country Crock's uniforms. Damn, I've really got some catching up to do.

How many times do we have to say this...they are all fan concepts made in photoshop.
There's a whole forum of these out there. Also, Nike can't just "bring their college uniforms to the NFL". The uniform requirements and rules are very different. The NCAA allows teams and especially Nike to get away with a LOT MORE than the NFL. Things like striping rules, TV numbers, socks, helmet logo positioning/size...the NFL is much more conservative rule-wise than the NCAA. Oregon's look would not work in the NFL. Many of the "Pro Combat" sets would not be allowed in the NFL unless approved or rules are changed for them. Also, the NFL has strict rules on how many uniforms a team can have, limits on how many weeks they can wear a throwback or alternate, a limit of one throwback or alt a year, and teams must also keep an alternate or throwback for at least 5 (I believe) years. They don't have to wear it, but they can't have a different one until their years are up. That's why we've seen those bad "Titans of NY" Jets set so long. They're finally eligible to change it and are considering a Kelly Green throwback to replace it. (Good move) Additionally, teams have to submit uniform changes to the league at least a year before for approval. So if Nike is changing anything, those teams would have already submitted those designs to the league for approval for 2012 and they're likely be leaked by now. I think all of this "Pro Combat NFL" with ugly, I mean crazy designs is all fantasy dreaming. The biggest changes will likely be in cut and fit of the uniforms along with materials. Hopefully Nike can do a better job on sleeves and striping than Reebok. The Colts are the prime example. Those stripes are supposed to wrap all the way around. A few players seem to have shrunken ones and the stripes and sleeve numbers are different sizes for different players. Annoys me so badly when I watch them. Reebok's quality control is horrible. I know players get custom-tailored jerseys, but Reebok should be able to at least keep the main parts of the jersey UNIFORM. Also, realize players mofidy their jerseys and make the stripes work. It is. There are all kinds of articles popping up. I really don't expect to see anything drastic from Nike. I wish the NFL would do some futuristic looking uniforms instead of the same old tired old throwback stuff.

I'm not on that boat. I fear what Nike would do to the NFL if given free reign over designs. I usually think classic > modern > > > > |
I'm not talking permanent change, just for a couple games like they do with the throwbacks. I dont think any futuristic uni could be worse than those horrid candycane throwbacks Denver wore or the high school looking throwbacks Chicago & Detroit wore. I guess I prefer looking to the future rather than looking back. |

I find myself agreeing with Buster more and more. Scary....
