Little Rock to see family. Didn't even get started, first flight out was delayed to the point where we were going to miss our connection out of Baltimore, and that was the only flight to Little Rock of the day.
Guys I am flying back to Washington Dulles via Charlotte late Friday night (flight leaves Charlotte at around 10:30PM).

Based on preliminary weather forecasts I should be ok. Anyone flown around a hurricane? I assume there will be a ton of flight cancellations?
You should be OK. Charlotte shouldn't see much and you'll be ahead of it hitting DC, but if they're already cancelling weekend flights in B-more....

I have to take my kid to BWI Saturday afternoon, already dreading the drive. I hope it doesn't start until late Saturday.

Mother Nature is officially the number one hatter this week. Her hatte game is top notch.

We are also dealing with a forest fire in the dismal swamp. When the wind switches to the north the smoke gets so bad I have to turn on my head lights and cannot go outside. If I look to the soth of my office I can see what looks like clouds but its actually smoke. The only good news about the hurricane is that it may put out the fire.

I went out for a run kind of early last Saturday morning and it smelled like some someone was BBQ'ing. For a second I thought SBF had moved to Columbia but then I heard it was from a fire in VA.

Mother Nature is a crazy bittch.

On the Eastern Shore of Maryland tonight. Heading back home tomorrow to batten down the hatches.

Sucks. Sucks. Sucks. We got 4 days of our 7 day Outter Banks vacation. Absolutely hated leaving. On top of that the sucker is gonna end up chasing me home and, with my luck, come right up the Chesapeake Bay, over Baltimore and probably have the eye go right over my house.

Did I say it sucks? Just wanted to be clear.

For those of you in it or around it - Keep safe! Hurricanes are nothing to f*** with.

A buddy of mine was in the Dominican Republic, and was stuck there b/c of the Hurricane...now he flies up to DC only to find that Irene is coming this way. I hope Irene stays at sea.

I just went to the grocery store and got my hurricane shopping done so I can avoid the crowds. I'd recommend doing that early as well, you don't want to be the last guy in when all the bread, milk, safety gear, generators, etc. all run out of stock. Be safe and don't underestimate it guys, you never know what will happen. It's like the politicians say (This is the only time I will put stock into what a politician says lol), expect the worst and hope for the best. I hope everybody comes through this okay, I can't remember the last time I expected a hurricane of this magnitude to come through NoVa like this.

Sorry to hear your vacation got blown up, get home safe and be safe during the storm. Latest tracks look not so bad for B-more, but Jersey, NY, Boston are in big trouble if Irene keeps its strength after hitting NC & us.
