the skins will save some money when they release chad morton, won't they ?
No they'll actually lose money. I don't see him going anywhere.

Re: Cap Update

We're already taking a huge cap hit for Coles, we can't release Brunell.

Re: Cap Update

is the bonus that was being debated in coles' contract already taken care of already? because the washington post article about the trade going through says its due April 1st.

Re: Cap Update

Does anyone know what our cap figure would be after trading Coles? I know we don't know Moss' numbers yet, but I'm curious to know how much room we've got even without considering Moss' contract.

Re: Cap Update

hey canuck can you tell what the cap is now that coles is gone, and what it would be once moss signs a contract extension for say, 5 years?

Re: Cap Update

I think it's a little difficult to say what Moss is worth. He had a bad year in 2004, but his 2003 number suggets he'd command a fairly decent sized signing bonus. Plus, Drew Rosenhaus is his agent and he usually gets his clients big bucks. Finally, if Moss signs a 5 year deal (and it will probably be 6), this is his only "big" contract as a wideout. It's his only chance to make a lot of money.

So, my guess is he'll end up getting a signing bonus of about $8 million (about half of what top wideouts like TO get) on a 6 year deal worth $28 million.

Why would we keep Morton? With Antonio Brown and Santana Moss what is the need for just a role player such as the worthless crass attitude of Morton.

Barrow even though he was injured at least was on the sideline for each and every game. Most injury guys do not even hang with the team. In Brunnel we have a very expensive back up so I think they will wait till the cap number is doable to release him.

And of one more note if you get rid of Morton then Matty has no choice but to eliminate is Avatar!!

come on guy. we understand u hate morton but this getting old. it's getting to the point for me personally that whenever I see one of your posts, even though u make good points some times, i just want to skip over it cuz at some point you're more than likely going to make a comment about morton being your current avatar. I'm seriously not trying to be an a-hole about this but please just give it a break, you're almost to the next one anyway. :thumb:
