Re: Skins-Cowboys Post Game Thread
Would you rather go 8-8 with Kirk playing mediocre/bad football or 3-13 and get a top 5 pick to draft a qb? That's the tough part, being stuck in the middle. And right now, based on our schedule and what we've seen so far, its going to be very difficult to get to 9 or 10 wins and into the playoffs.
What I saw today from Kirk makes it hard for me to believe we can regularly win games and make the playoffs with him as the QB. The direction of our season hinges on the next game. Lose that one and that puts us at 0-3 (0-2 in conference) and to me would effectively end our season. Hopefully Kirk can really step it up. Today was just so deflating. So many points were left on the field.
I'd rather be 8-8 honestly and I don't see us winning 9 games this year. We would have to start a run now and win 3-4 straight. Can that happen? Re: Skins-Cowboys Post Game Thread
We will be fine, just need to make some changes:
Stop getting cute in the redzone Play rookies Fuller, Kelley and Lanier (need young influx) Put Long in and replace Lichtensteiger Get Cravens more involved. |
Re: Skins-Cowboys Post Game Thread
Man this sux...I really thought today we would bounce back. I felt going into the game cousins would settle down, we'd run the ball, get a couple take aways and score on some big plays...kinda a continuation of the previous weekend problems. I thought the defense played better today...
What really is the most bothersome is the coaching. Gameplan seemed poor. |

We need to see if he can actually play there for next year. I mentioned earlier, Cravens needs to be starting. He's a player. I'd prefer him at SS. |

Re: Skins-Cowboys Post Game Thread
Defense has been just as bad as last year. Norman is great but breeland is garbage so far. Idk what the fuck is his problem but it's bad. I knew we were fd when we played a rookie QB that needs that first win.... Always us

Re: Skins-Cowboys Post Game Thread
Kirk hasn't played like a franchise QB but there is plenty of blame to go around:
Against Dallas, 73% of the plays were pass plays to 27% run. Cowboys vs. Redskins - Box Score - September 18, 2016 - ESPN Two of those runs were Kirks's and were called passes so the break down is actually 75% pass and 24% run. What the hell? Kirk was not playing well and our O line was out playing their D line on every level and Jones was running better than he ever has. He was getting yards after contact and falling forward. The play callers did nothing to take some of the pressure off Kirk with the run game which was working better than it has in a while. There is a lot, A LOT, of blame on the play calling, whether it was Jay or McVay it was bad. With the game as close as it was throughout, a more balanced approach was possible. As mentioned in other posts, the 1st and goal from the 6 was infuriating. 3 straight passes against some guys they picked up at Home Depot playing DLine. Mike Tomlin would have planned on going for the TD in 4 downs. |
Re: Skins-Cowboys Post Game Thread
I hate to blame one play or 1 player but I'm going to:mad:
Kirk Cousins lost this game. Yes some of the playcalling sucked{like the fade calls}but Kirk doesnt get the ball anywheres close on those fades, they we're terrible. He must be able to complete those passes in practice or why do you call it 4 times? Then we know about the 2 overthrows and 1 underthrow that were sure td's and then theres the int. Kirk is not a franchise Qb,franchise qb's rarely have 1 bad game but 3 in a row never happens{yes I'm going back to GB game} Now the Kirk apologist will come out of the woodwork{just like they did for Griffin} and tell me I'm over reacting blah blah blah. Kirk has had plenty of time to digest this offense and there are no excuses for him,he's average and that's it,he's def not worth what he's getting paid. Then theres Dak.I told you guys in preseason the kid was good and got a bunch of crap for it,and I'm sure the same people are going to give me crap for it now{it's only been 2 games!} Kirk looked like the inexperienced rookie while Dak outplayed him in every facet of the game, including poise under pressure. Unfortunately Dallas has found their future franchise qb and Romo replacement while we will still be searching for ours |

He is a game manager and that's it, what has he done that shows "franchise" qb? He isn't accurate on the long ball at all and his fade and back shoulder passes are just as bad as kirks. To me he's another Jason Campbell type QB. He just has a way better offense than JC ever had. Wait and see in a few years. He's a good player but nothing more. Romo will have his job back for a reason. As for KC? Man idk what to think after that int, I really believed he was done with that bs and it's showing that he's just too inconsistent. One week he's good the next he's blah.. Today he played ok until that throw. The skins aren't done but if we lose next week u might as well pack it in. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk |

I trust my eyes on what i've seen of Dak,sometimes you can just tell when someone has that "it" and I see it in Dak.I dont remember him throwing any long passes or fades in this game but this is only his 2nd game,he's only going to get better.Just like Kirk and Grudens comment,"he's a work in progress" Dak Prescott 22/30 292 9.7 0 0 4-14 87.7 103.8 Only time will tell and I swear to Jesus I hope I'm wrong as hell about Kirk and Dak but I dont think I will be |

Re: Skins-Cowboys Post Game Thread
No NFL team since the 2003 Philadelphia Eagles has started 0-2 with both losses at home and made the playoffs. Not sure how many actual teams this includes but that's not a good stat.
