Re: Gruden fires entire defensive staff
Great news. An article I just read reminded me of this fact.
"During his two years with the Detroit Lions, including an 0-16 season, the Lions’ defense ranked among the worst in the league." I sure hope Gruden learned his lesson about hiring cronies. If it walks like a duck.
I thought this was another bad Bruce Allen hire. Another Bad Bruce Allen Creation.... |
First, I would like to say that I feel like a kid on Christmas morning that Barry has been canned! Wouldn't mind seeing Wade Phillips or maybe even Gus Bradley.
Second, This is my first post on this site, I have spent some time with Extreme Skins but grew tired of that site. Did a little looking around and like the feel of this one. Hope to have some good interactions on here.....also I BS around on twitter with fellow Skins fans as well, follow me @JRouse84
Welcome |

Click on "User CP", just above the "Donation Goal" box. On the left side of your screen there should be a box with your settings including "Edit Avatar" |

LOL yeah you too....was going back and forth....Have been very lucky to have met both my favorite all time Redskins, I have a Sean Taylor signed jersey in my house and a helmet signed by Riggo here in my office at work! |
Re: Gruden fires defensive coordinator Joe Barry
so what about Rex Ryan as a DC? he is not going to get looked at as a HC anytime soon, but was a great 3-4 DC . . . thoughts? I'd be game myself

Nice. I got lucky enough to stand in his autograph line during training camp in 2005. Didn't get to talk on a personal level but I always looked up to him. He was coming into his own in 2007 and it was clear his best days were in front of him. He was just taken too soon. I miss him every time I see one of his crap replacements miss a tackle or give up a big play. |

I wouldn't mind but the theme with our coaches is "Tampa North" which basically means Jay likes hiring guys he or our front office have worked with before, typically from TB. If he breaks the mold and hires a guy he's not familiar with, like Wade Phillips/etc. that would be great but I'm not holding my breath. I really don't want Greg Manusky though, so if we end up with him I won't be too happy. He needs a coordinator with a proven track record, or a position coach that learned under the master. |

I think they knew the fan base needed some hope quickly after that ending. Welcome to the WP! |
Re: Gruden fires entire defensive staff
I just have this annoying feeling Manusky is going to get the job, based on the tea leaves you can kind of read from my links above. Not sure he'd have the best resume if you could get an application from Gus Bradley, Paul Guenther, Wade Phillips and others who may be available.
Keim is saying he is the guy to watch on staff. |

I would personally like to go back to the 4-3, maybe we can get Wilks from Carolina, and sign KK Short in the process lol |

I'm hoping that they'll just interview him as a courtesy to McC, but if he gets the job I feel like we'll be getting Barry 2.0. He has been fired multiple times as d-coordinator, idk how that track record doesn't speak for itself. |
Re: Gruden fires defensive coordinator Joe Barry
I don't want Rex Ryan just because I think he would be a distraction and sure don't want his brother, Potbelly Ryan.
My picks would be either Bradley or Phillips. |

Does he want to be a DC? He has been a HC a while ,king of the hill to speak think he will take to playing second fiddle? |
