How did the Bucs beat the Falcons if they couldn't beat the Niners? How did the Browns beat the Bears if they couldn't beat the Texans? Any given Sunday

Every year there is that one team that gets on a roll in the last 5-6 games and rolls into the playoffs. Maybe we can be that team this year.

Keep hope alive...keep hope alive...

Man, I sure hope so and that would be a definite sweet reward for the heart attacks we have suffered this year.

You actually think Brunell lost this game? Please. Why didn't you mention by the way, that Portis sought of, well kind of fuckin fumbled twice. Maybe that could have of , well maybe gave up 2 critical possessions. Give it up. Brunell is the reason we even have 5 wins. Because Ramsey nor Campbell wouldn't have 12 TDs and 5 INTs.

Brunell is a BIG reason why we have won 5 games this year. However, when do we go with youth? If we are out of the playoffs this year, should we try to develop one of our younger QBs? Mark is 35. He's only got 1 or 2 years left. When do we play for the future?

I don't think that is going to happen unless we are completely eliminated from the playoffs. As long as there is at least a mathematical chance, you won't see Campbell.

It ain't over til it's over.

2 more losses and it likely is over though.

Re: Playoff Hopes Dead?

Mathmatically, we're in it. Realistically, the only chance we have is if we beat the Giants and Cowboys at home (which I believe we will do), and start playing better on the road. You can't go 1-7 on the road and make the playoffs.

My opinion though: after today's game, the season's over.

Re: Playoff Hopes Dead?

I wouldn't say they're over, but I'd say we're definitely now playing for a wild car, lucky shot at the playoffs versus actually playing to control our destiny or win a division.

Re: Playoff Hopes Dead?

Close to dead but we still have a pluse.. We would have had to win the final three divison games regardless of what has happen the last two weeks. So if loose to Sando and beat ST.L and ARZ we could still finish 10-6. Im not saying its likely but we can still decide our own destiny.

Re: Playoff Hopes Dead?

we'll go 8-8, maybe 9-7 at best, and miss the playoffs - something I've maintained since the loss to the Giants. We lose next week, beat the Cards and Rams, and win one of two against the Giants and Eagles.

We will have like the 10th or 11th pick in the draft which Denver will use on a quality player.

On the bright side, perhaps no GMs or owners will come knocking for G. Williams as a head coaching candidate. Can't blame Williams for our stinking D this year - we have way too many deficiencies. Gibbs and Williams will still be here next year and take us to the playoffs.

Didn't think about that, great point. I don't blame Williams either. While it does seem at times that opponents have figured out his blitz packages, I really think the players he's dealing with are starting to play down to reality.

I think we're out of the playoffs. If we can't beat Oakland in OUR house....what hope is there for the teams ahead of us?
