Man its a done deal apperently...... i just hope it doesn't bite us in the Ass, as I look at it this is his last chance to play in the NFL and colect so I hope he gets it.....
And yeah like 1 of you said fans tend to forget if TO comes to dallas and scores 15 tds like he did in Philly no body would remmember his offense to the star, hey a lot of fans don't remmember or don't care now sicne we're split 50 - 50 on should he or should he be a cowboy. ..... Changing subject I hear a lot of comments about Archuleta his a good player my question is don't you agree you overpay him I mean making him the highest paid safety in the league is a bit much. That's the only thing for me he isn't even close to Reed, Roy, Taylor, Dawkins, Brown, Polamalu, Wilson, Sanders league this will hurth future contracts. |

Hey don't try to sneak in here and change the TO/cowboys enjoyment. Let me brush off what you said because it's GONNA hurt us (like in the FUTURE, like we all know it was gonna hurt us every year). But going back to TO/Cowboys, damn that was a match made in H E L L. To understate it a little, it will be interesting to see what kind of relationship he and Parcells will have, especially with the "little" blowup that happened last year (?) with Antonio Bryant. Bryant's behavior that was reported wasn't close to being half as bad as Owens... can't wait for the drama. I don't see Owens changing his behavior one bit and I don't see Parcells being able to put up with that behavior. Let's see who bends first, if they even do. |

i think TO will help you fags in the short term. And he will be the final straw that helps The Tuna retire next year after you don't make the playoffs. maybe we will let you have one of our assistants as your head coach in 2007. I'll think about it.

I can't agree, there are a lot of stars in free agency. There is a handful on the redskins I can think of right now. Griffin, Washington, Springs, Randle-El, Archuleta. Hey, I guess nobody lets their stars go... like Terrell Owens. And I bet there is an argument somewhere about what is a star and why they are released and so on... but I won't discuss, that's a judgment thing. Matter of fact this is a judgment thing... let me get off of this. Anywayz, do you think that it would be overpaying a star wideout with (major) behavior issues which would possibly destroy a whole team? I know Jones is a gambling man, but his whole team? Cuz that's the risk the Cowboys are taking on. |
Re: Sources Tell Hooskins Owens Will Sign With Dallas
OK is he worth the Highest salary for a safety in the History of the NFL. or not if not you overpaid. Simple is he worth the top 5? what has he done to deserve that raise thats my question?
|
Re: Sources Tell Hooskins Owens Will Sign With Dallas
i think this year is one of those years where basically everything done in FA you kind of have to throw out the window. this wont be the norm for the future years, its all a result of the CBA agreement. whether AA is worth top 5 safety money, possibly, but was he worth top safety money in nfl historY? probably not, but like i said before just remember that the cba caused a lot of crazy deals to get done. i mean those deals for bentley and hutchinson are INSANE.

If Arch makes the TEAM better and his play is part of the equation that results in a better WL record, his price is more than worth it. Conversely, TO is expensive at any price because of the probabilty his impact on the team will be a gigantic negative. |
Re: Sources Tell Hooskins Owens Will Sign With Dallas
make sure the you capitalize "History of the NFL." And lets forget about the inherent relativity in determining the value of the dollar. Ya know, $1 today is $1 yesterday and all. Come on dude. The value of a Dan Snyder $1 is alot less than a Ram $1. Because we have more of them. Money doesnt establish value. The buyer's demand establishes value.
Good lord, are we on the Gold Standard still? |

i agree. this is why i dont see why anyone wuld want his gigantic contract because unless your team is just a player away frmo super bowl contention, you dont get him. hes a hired gun, nothing more. |

Ok overpaying a safety that may hurt the team in the future (conceding to your opinion for the point of this argument) that upgrades a position at the very least .... OR ..... taking on a bipolar (now conceding to my opinion) wr that may destroy an entire team... it happened with the only 2 teams he has been with before and stirred up a team that he never was a teammate of (Ravens). Now that's not overpaying, that's priceless. |

Well, I know what he hasn't done. He hasn't gotten burned twice on deep TD passes in the final few minutes of a huge Monday night rivalry game at home in front of a viewing audience of millions, thereby costing his team the game...........so I guess I'm comfortable with him making more money than some other so-called elite safeties out there. Oh, and Roger Stauback never got paid as much as Joey Harrington..........does that mean Joey Harrington is a better QB? Time value of money......makes the whole "History of the NFL" comment a little ridiculous. |
Re: Sources Tell Hooskins Owens Will Sign With Dallas
Remember during ast year's training camp when Reid yelled at TO and TO said something to the effect of "Is your last name Owens? Only my mother talks to me that way." Given Parcells jolly nature, especially during training camp, I wonder how long he can restrain himself from vocalizing his displeasure at TO.

That is a very good point, I really either Parcells with have to soften(which wont happen) or TO is going to eurupt. I can not wait till Cowboys training camp!!! |

Keep in mind just how well Bledsoe and KJ got along. Combine that with how neither TO or Bledsoe are known for being real stoic. This is going to be so fun to watch. I can't wait. Anyone have the movie of Williams knocking TO off the star?
Please? |
Re: Sources Tell Hooskins Owens Will Sign With Dallas
Realistically, TO is smart enough to control his mouth for at least half a season. That's only if the Cowboys are winning and having a good ol' time throwing him the ball (who else can they throw the ball to?). Can't wait to see the schedule to figure out when the inevitable breakdown will begin.

Look at this from the perspective of a math problem....
If Pp=Parcells history of interacting with players If Btw=Bledsoe's history of calling out WRs and other team mates on the field and sidelines If Tc is TOs history of interacting with coaches If Tq is TOs history of interacting with QBs If Tm is TOs history of interacting with the media If Ro is Rosenhauses influence on TO If C$ is an incentive laden contract, then.... ((Pp x Tc)+(Btw x Tq)+(Tm x Ro))/C$=DALLAS SUCKS |

Dallas has a better potential running game and TO was a fantasy machine before the Eagles shut him down. He still has mad game. Sure we signed some fast receivers too, but he is one of the best and we don't even have a 3rd CB right now.....and with Springs and Rodgers always banged up, this trade makes me more nervous than happy. Also we should have gotten more for Ramsey than a 6th rounder....so I'll curb my enthusiasm until Springs shuts his fat mouth up on game day. |
