Skins will beat the bucs through conservative play this week, bucs just plain stink this year, maybe worse than the skins. campbell will barely throw for 150 yards with one pic.
The Titans stink too... and they beat us. I just can't help but think this team has NO motivation to win. They are all upset, pissed off and cranky. I have a bad feeling that Portis and Moss are both going to try to get out of their contracts. It makes me very sad..

According to WP, and I quote, they are "energized." As is the fanbase.

Both Portis and Moss were interviewed yesterday and they both sound defeated and pissed off. I know it's no fun to be hurt, but come on. They don't even sound like they care if they get better in time for the games anymore... :(

Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions

Yeah, I think the skins matchup reasonably well against the Bucs. The eagles were a horrible matchup. They will come out with some energy, it should be a good game. Campbell has gotta watchout for ronde though, could be bad news with the zone coverages. I think campbell needs to put some air under the ball, instead of zinging passes down the field, cause in the zone, those will get picked unless precise. I'm excited, and so should be the team.

What's the deal, Hess.
I'm with TMC on this. All accounts I hear on the team are good! let's face it. Changes like this happen all the time in the NFL-part of the deal. JC is our future and it's time for him to get his chance. I would be depressed playing like they are with no change in sight. I think they are "energized", like the fanbase as well. I am looking forward a WIN in TB. JC is gonna' have a chance to do some damage in TB. What a huge deal if he can pull it off! And Yes, I expect them to win!

Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions

Sorry... but I usually go with my gut feelings, and my gut feeling is that this team has given up. They are defeated and depressed. I just cannot believe what I'm seeing when I watch them play. It is CRAZY that we have so much talent and nothing is happening for us. JC was a last ditch effort. I bet at home at night the players are all laughing and thinking that no matter who's the QB, they still stink....

My HOPE is that on Sunday JC comes out, throws a bomb for a TD, blows everyone away, the spark reignites and POW.... we are back!

Hess, If you can turn on the "redskins lunch" on 94.3, 92.7, or 73.0 FM. They are discussing this issue right now

Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions

This is what we will probably see a lot of, Campbell will hold the ball a lot longer than Brunell trying to figure out the defense which will allow for more sacks, but he will also make more big plays downfield, this particular defense will be very tough for Jason because they are very good at jumping off coverage and stepping in front of primary recievers something experienced QB's have problems with. Then Jason has to worry about Rice who will eat Samuels alive coming from the blind side, this will not allow Jason to get comfortable at all on sunday, but it's experience he will need, unfortunatly he should have had much more experience already, Buc's win because of turnovers in a low scoring game, 13-10

I don't see us scoring a TD though, but I do see TB getting some points off turnovers (which hasn't been an issue yet this year).

Even with the state of our D, we should keep TB reasonably off the board. But we have to find a way to hold them to single digits to win the game.

Or not

The Zimmermans 11-15-2006 12:35 PM

Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions

All we need is one deep completion early on, then we can establish a sollid run game. Our main concern should be to limit our predictability. D coordinators must have been so excited to face the redskins every week knowing exactly what plays they were going to run with brunell with an occasional ARE trick play here and there. At least now they are slightly nervous.

Gradkowski is a lowsy QB, his best asset is his ability to run, the possiblity exists that our defense could win this game, but I would defiently bet the under in this one.

larry had spoken to Betts, TJ, and JC earlier in the day. naturally they are major stoked to go. Especially TJ as he has been bustin' to get in all season. According to bram and Larry, the team is very optimistic about this week. INt with Pierson Prioleau. Basically, he said the team will back JC, and go kick the sh... out of TB. Int with JC to follow.

Actually, nothing you would not expect, but positive. I have not really heard anything outside the organization that is not positive as well.

The coaches know Campbell's strengths, they aren't going to have him play beyond his means.

Anyone who watched the MNF game know what the Bucs are capable of. We can beat this team.

Campbell will light the place up.

I really find it funny how you told me all year to get "real" and deal with REALITY when MB was playing, yet you place so much faith in JC when he hasn't even taken the field yet. If you're still in "win mode" it won't be fun. I have resigned myself to rebuilding mode. As far as Portis goes, I'm not too worried about it. Betts has stepped up and done an adequate job.

I think the motivation factor will be kicked up a notch since the switch has been made. I really don't understand those who are mourning the loss of Brunell. He knew this was coming and I guarantee this scenario was already discussed with him earlier in the season. I appreciate what he did for this team, God bless him, but it's time to move forward.

Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions

I don't think we are mourning the the loss of Brunell, rather we are mouning the loss of what Brunell being benched means - the season is over.

Lady Brave 11-15-2006 01:48 PM

Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions

Yes the season is over and it's sad, but it's over because of a number of factors with this team right now. Keeping Brunell in wouldn't give us a better shot and it would keep JC from gaining some much needed experience right now.

Long shot. But I still have a glimmer of hope for the playoffs. Nothing can be done about IR though

I dunno about campbell learning this offense, maybe saunders could tweak it a bit to fit campbell's abilities, just like he tweaked it for brunell. I know i'm gonna be angry when campbell hands the ball off 3 times in a row to start the game.

Did they really have a choice?

The QB move needed to happen and was inevitable with the way the offense was struggling, and Portis is expected to be out 6-8 weeks.
