ps. Do you thing the Chargers made a good trade in the 2001 draft? Vick or L.T? With hindsight being 20/20 that sure isn’t to tough.lol
I think everyone felt that they made the wise choice even after they made it. No hindsight needed.
Like i have said a million times before, Vick is overrated. Always has been...but apparently he will no longer be. :D

Chargers got the better part of that deal easily. Even back in 2001 when they made it. I thought it was a great deal for San Diego. San Diego has a knack for making good deals. (example: 2004 Eli for Rivers)

Who do you go after: The guy who does coke in his basement, the guy who sells coke to a few clients, or the person who supplies the whole city with coke? Vick can't sing on anyone becuase he happens to be the person they want! He's at the top.

It's no big deal, just wanted to make you aware of it.
I think we are both pretty appauled at Vick and his actions. It's a shame the country doesn't have stiffer penalties for things like this. Who knows, maybe we'll see a "Vick" law in the future.

True. They have been doing pretty good with there personnel lately. Let’s see if Turner can make it all work this year. The Chargers have kind of been my “step child” team since the Rams left. I pull for them as long as there not playing the Redskins.

I especially am pulling for them now that they got embarassed by the patriots. I hate the patriots, and the chargers are a class team and orginization.

It doesn't hurt that I have a few Norv Turner autographed items and need him to be successful to cash in! :D

In addition to the trade you mention, and as I said previously in this thread, they kicked Matt Schaub to the curb earlier this year which now really looks bad. Now Joey Harrington may be the one to take over as QB and that isn't a good thing. Good luck Dirty Birds.

I wish PETA wasn't so damn gay, cause they have good ideals, they just go crazy over dumb things some times.
I'd love to start a less abrasive group for the ethical treatment of animals without being a tree hugger, and someone that thinks that they shouldn't eat cows.

Oh, you mean the PETA that picked up 20 some dogs from a shelter uthanized them in a van after telling the shelter they would find them homes. Then they dump them in a dumpster. Thats a good idea.

I firmly believe that God put animals on this earth for us to eat...deer included. I do not condone hunting deer if you only want his antlers. You should hunt him to eat him only.

Couple of things:
1. I read in one of the Vick related articles that the Feds have a 95% conviction rate on their indictments. (Scooter Libby, Enron Execs - rich, powerful, connected and in jail on federal indictments).

2. The Virginia federal circuit is politely known as the "Rocket Docket" - No dicking around there. The trial will begin by December or January '08.
REALLY? I didn't hear anything about this...why would they do that?
Do you have a link?
I will find a link but PETA's home head quarters is here in the Tidewater area so they make the News often. It was two worker who went to get these dogs at a shelter that was over run with dogs and they offered to help. The reason the shelter was over run was because they do not uthanize any animals. PETA offered to help and told the shelter they would find them homes and not uthanize the dogs. On the way back the workers stopped an uthanized most if not all of the dogs and dumped them in a dumpster behind a business. The business discovered the dogs and the cops came and traced it back to PETA. The two employess where charged with some type of crimes I think one was unthanizing dogs and not lic to do it. PETA head quarters acted as they had no idea it had happened but most people feel thet they did because who gave the employees the uthanization stuff and didn't they inquire to what happened to the dogs.

Just last week a PETA worker got caught stealing a hunting dog. She found the dog walking down the road and picked it up and there was no problem with that. She then removed the dogs collar and a tracking devise for locating the dog. I think a cop stop her and noticed the dog which she was trying to hide and he noticed the markings. It was the sheriffs dog and then she was asked about the dogs collar and stuff and she said that it did not have one. Well they tracked it down and found it sitting beside the locator and then found her finger prints. This one has not gone to trial and what she was doing was stealling the dog because they think hunters do not care for their dogs. Oh, they use the dogs for hunting which they also do not like.

I'm with you on PETA, I hate being on the same side as them because they are wackos and more of a political fringe group than a group that really cares for animals.

There is a group that already exists that is more mainstream and truly focus on animal well-being without being nut-jobs...The Humane Society of the U.S. They are heavily involved in the Vick issue, lobbying the NFL and Arthur Blank, (Falcons & Home Depot owner) to have Vick suspended.

I still don't think you get it. It seems like you're trying to antagonize for the sake of antagonizing.

I mean, it's like when the Redskins lose a game and everyone gets pissed we all know that grand scheme it's not a big deal when people are dying senselessly every day. But it's not relevant to the immediate discussion of the Redskins. To the immediate discussion of Vick and his alleged mistreatment of dogs and his future in the league, the AIDS epidemic in South Africa (as an example) doesn't really seem to fit.

And I still don't know what the CIA has to do with all this

And leave PSUSKINSFAN21 alone

I'll take the Under. I heard on Mike & Mike this morning that the Federal Court in Richmond, VA moves its caseload faster than any other Fed Court in the U.S. Greenberg mentioned he spoke with an attorney familiar with the Federal system and estimated the trial starting in Oct. / Nov. 2007.

This link is from the Virginian Pilot, today. Vick and his cohorts have their bond hearing and arraignment on July 26th.

What makes one life more important than another?
For Instance, does someone that is severely mentally retarded not deserve the same rights as someone who is "normal"? You may argue that "well he's human, so yes". While I would agree yes is the answer, but what makes the life of a dog any less important than a human? Is it the brain function? Or are you just more interested in the specific race? Cause there are plenty of dogs that are more intelligent than humans.
While I do not treat my Basset Hounds better than myself, they are definitely like my children, and I love them as such, and give them a great life. I do not feel this is wrong in any way, nor should I apologize for it.
it sickens me how we get up in arms when something like this happens, but what about darfur? hell what about the homeless and less fortunate living here in america!?!?
Well those are valid issues, however if you look at the title of this thread, this thread is about how Vick treated his dogs. As such, you should expect to hear about animal cruelty and people for or against it. This is not a post about homelessness...feel free to start a thread in the parking lot to discuss these issues and I'm sure many of us here will be right there to discuss it with you.
we put dogs in $500 spas, buy $200 dollar outfits etc.
While I do not do this, I do not get upset at people who do. It's their money and can use it in any manner they wish. Not that I am judging, but if they spent $700 on a dog, well, that's better than going to Vegas and giving it away on the black jack table. Not that I'm against gambling either...hell I love roulette.

So at any point do you plan on offering a single piece of intelligent discussion on anything football related? Just curious.

And somehow I doubt whether your being on summer break has any bearing on your abilities to spell properly or use proper grammar. Of course, if you are still on this site when your Junior High starts back up again (and you probably won't be), I guess you'll have the chance to prove me wrong.
Do u think he is guilty? Personally, I think he was funding the operation. Someone had to have the $ to fund the operation. Taking care of some 60 dogs is a lot of $.
Indicted on 3 counts! Oh my!!!!!!!! Triple threat time for Vick. Even if he beats one count, he probably won't beat them all!!!! His career is crashing as we speak. All they have to do is tie him in moneywise and he is a goner!!! Folks been saying 2-3 game suspension, but I can't see anything less than a season suspension and maybe worse. Skins is right!!! 60 pitbulls would take a load of bread to feed, train, mate, etc. I doubt his lame ass cousin would have that type of dough. Vick is going to get nailed!!!!!! The Vick bros are total morons!!!!!

We needed to keep Gus til we either got a better WR corp for him or landed Brad Johnson or anothe FA QB stud. Gus could have really been something if we had a WR corp back then. When the best guy you have to throw to was Westbrook, even P. Manning would be doomed!!!!!!

There is no acceptable defense for the actions of Michael Vick. Someone mentioned Devon Boddie and why his name wasn't mentioned anywhere in the indictment, well I had wondered the exact same thing. He did however, do his best to insult the intelligence of investigators when he said the dogs found on Vick's property were planted by authorities.
