Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
I think it will be close going into the half Redskins 14 Detroit 7. But I think after the Giants game, we will come out firing in the second half and the final score will be Redskins 28 Detroit 7
|
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
Detroit is a good team and it will take a team effort from the Redskins to win this game. It will be another ugly win by the Skins with the game going down to the wire. Redskins 24 - Lions 20.
|
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
This is a hard game to predict, one thing I'm sure of it's that we need to score lots of points. I'm also confidant that Carlos Rogers is going to get devoured without some serious help.
Hope the coaches show up to play. 30-24 Lions. |
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
Redskins 34
Lions 15 On offense, the redskins score on their first 3 possessions. A touchdown, a field goal and a touchdown - in that order and they have learned to put a game away with mixing up the play calling after being ahead at the half. On defense, the redskins give a bunch looks to the lions, being able to confuse Kitna enough where he makes the wrong decisions at crucial times. The lions are able to move the ball in the middle of the field seemingly at will in the beginning but like a prize fight gameplan - the receivers and running backs and hopefully the quarterback get worn down by the consistently hard hits that the redskins are dishing out. The redskins fans will be worried and frustrated at first at how easily the lions are eating up yardage, but get onboard in the 4th quarter when they finally figure out this was the gameplan all along. |
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
I think you guys are giving the Lions too much credit. I think they are an improved team, but far from being feared.

Redskins win..... Skins 31 Lions 21
Hail!!! Hey guys any of you out there who have faith, pray for a Redskins voctory my buddy's birthday is on Sunday and that is all he wants for turning 41. He married a 20 year old in April so he's good for the year... just wants that win.;) |
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
Anyone who thinks the Redskins offense will be able to produce more than two offensive touchdowns needs to get off the hallucinogenic drugs.
At some point, our secondary is going to get exposed in a very ugly way. But not this week. It'll be another gut-wrenching contest... Redskins 19 Lions 17 |
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
A great day for the running game. Portis, although hurt will play some to brake a 100 yard day with several 20 and 30+ yard runs.
|
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
Redskins will lose, but they will play their guts out!!
24-13 Detroit |
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
Ok I'm going to go conservative this time....although , I do not really see it this close.
17-14 Skins |
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
One loss and some people are doubting already?
Not at all - I'm sure Lions fans have the same confidence for the same reasons... The Lions are going to throw a ton - everyone knows that. I'd expect to see an aggresive rush to counteract that, rather than Nickel and Dime coverage. Extra fan support from section 309 should make the difference. Redskins 24 Lions 21© |
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
We have had two weeks to prepare a defensive strategy for the Lions at home. I'm very confident that G.Williams put together something tastey for Kitna and company. Our defense will dominate the line of scrimage and make sacks and picks.
Due to our lack our offensive fire power we will not be able to pull away and this game comes down to the 4th Q (like always). Running attack comes back this week and Campbell does just enough......I'm even looking ahead next week in Green Bay where we pick up another W to go 4-1. SKINS 24 LIONS 21
If we're only gonna score 24 pts this Sunday there's probably not much sense in taking the field. |
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
Gibbs finally turns Campbell loose and he delivers against the 30th ranked pass defense with a 22/29 273yard 3 TD performance while the defense has 4 sacks and forces 4 turnovers in a 35-20 win.
I hope your right. If they don't let this kid start doing his thing, I'm going to do something.....just don't know what. |
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
Something that I just thought of made me a very happy man. Since the Lions like to pass, and run a bunch of plays with the 4 WR set....We could see some huge hits from the FS/SS this weekend. YEAH!!!!
|
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
Skins 21
Lions 17 Skins will run, run, and run some more. Skins secondary matches up fairly well against this team. Combine that with FedEx home field and they should win this one. |
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
im gonna go with King's prediction
"Game of the week. Jason Campbell and Jon Kitna stand 10 paces apart and have a good old-fashioned shootout. So why, with the Redskins averaging 198 passing yards and the Lions 313, do I choose Campbell to win? Simple. Better secondary on his team. Roy Williams, have your head on a swivel Sunday. Those two safeties are looking to add a few tattoos to you." Redskins 30, Lions 27 |

We came out firing in the second half of the NY game...that didn't work out too well. It's amazing to me that a lot of people are talking about "coming out firing". That's not redskins football. Run the ball, control the clock, play solid defense. Yeah, you take your occasional shot down the field for a big play, but you don't "come out firing". |
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
Totally Chief.
We lose an aerial shootout. and with Moss nicked? That plays completely to Martz specialties, and they have demonstrated that is their forte' as well. We do not have a good handle on that yet. We win if we can keep their "Chuck and Duck" off the field with..................Redskins football..............power running and...ball control |
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
I think the skins D will show up pressuring Kitna to make bad decisions. The D will have a few turnovers I'll say 3 or 4 which will lead to at least 14 points. The Skins will control the ball with power running. They will convert 3rd downs and keep Kitna and the number 1 passing offense off the field. I think we will also see some trickery on offense, I expect maybe a Randle El pass or a flea flicker. Go Skins.
Skins win 31 to 21. |
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
I guess I would say......come out and be less predictable.........instead of come out firing

From the 3rd qtr: RPP..punt...PRP..punt...RRP..punt....RR...fumble Sitting there watching the game i thought we were too conservative w/ the lead. My point w/ the play by play was to contradict the statement that we were coming out firing. I think we can both agree there was no execution anywhere. |

It was the beginning of the 2nd half (the 1st time we got the ball), up to the point where we basically had to throw. I'm counting 6 runs v 5 passes, up to that point, not that it matters... |

Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
I am going to reserve a prediction on this game. I am leaning towards Detroit, but they live an breathe by the pass. I think that GW will bring some creative blitz packages to bear on the Detroit offense.
Also, it will depend on just how much Portis and Moss can contribute if they play at all. I am just stoked that they are showing that game down here in Texas and I get to watch it! |
