For a brief minute I was happy they won the Super Bowl. Though in a perfect world, neither team would have won.

I for one was elated. I don't hate the Giants like I do the Cowboys and I want to see Manning succeed (at least when he's not playing us). Since we were not in the game, seeing the Giants win/the Patriots lose was the best thing I could have hoped for.

Just spoke with Mr Snyder this morning and asked him about his mental state after such an exhausting search for his successor to Joe Gibbs. He reiterated that it had been one of the most difficult of times for him, and as a result he had come to the conclusion the next time he's faced with the challenge his MO is going to be vastly different.

He's going to invite all the media types form the various networks to his home, HAVE THEM present him with a list of names who they feel comfortable with being the next HC of the Redskins. Once all parties are comfortable with the list of candidates, they will return to their respective networks, conduct a poll and whatever candidate emerges as leader from the poll results he will name his next HC. But wait, there's a catch!!...............They will also have to pay him.

Isn't Zorn 54 yrs old? Why does everyone talk about him like he's 35? At this point I'm skeptical. Why didn't any other team show interest in hiring him before if he's been around the league for 10+?

Let's be more specific than just throwing out the term "media" and saying they are universally out to get Snyder (poor Dan). Even the King piece, which inspired this thread, wasn't vitrolic (as was much fan response to Fassel, underservedly so in my opinion) he was simply stating - in his opinion as a commentator and columnist - a better option existed which would have had an experienced coach on top with Jim Zorn running the offense. I tend to agree with that sentiment, but now we're moving forward. Wilbon was unconditionally laudatory of the move and last I checked he qualified as a "media type". I think much media coverage deserves criticism (take for instance all the 'horse race' coverage of the primaries), but not everyone in the "media" represents some scary force with some maniacle agenda.

I wish they'd destroy RFK and build over there! It would be a great location for football stadium, urban location so many options to/from the games. Only problem is Dan makes so much money on parking...but i have a strong feeling he's coming back to dc eventually. he wants the olympics

ahhhhh I don't know about this. Peter King is a homer! He's a die hard Giants fan. And probably the only Giants fan that likes Fassell. Personally, hiring fassel would have been a bad move. His teams always lacked discipline. And always did something stupid, like brawling it out with a football team, instead of playing football. There is a reason why other teams took Mike Nolan over him. Or that guy that coaches Detriot now............whatever his name is. Or Jim Mora over him as well.............well, in a month he will be taken.

Heck, Fassell couldn't even be a play caller for Brian Billick. I mean, when Billick says you suck and fires you. It must be so!

So, I don't buy into what King says one bit. But, I wouldn't have minded if we got Russ Grimm back to be our head coach. I was kind of dissappointed when we didn't. Maybe now we can see if he's available

Please answer these three questions, honestly, in regards to Dan Snyder and his love fest with Vinny Cerrato ...

1. Is this franchise in better shape than it was in 2000 when Snyder bought the team?

2. Has this team been a consistent winner since 2000?

3. What exactly have we won since 2000?

I'm w/ you but alot on this board back DS and VC like they've actually accomplished alot in DC. What it really boils down to is, when is the last time that we won the NFC East? Won a Championship Game? Been to a Championship Game? SB? 11 games? Consistent Winner?

I'm all for patience. The last 8 or so years w/ VC has caused me to lose my patience. Get a guy in here that can run a football organization and let VC go.

I don't know about you guys but there was a time that we were among the NFL's elite franchises. Now, really we're in the bottom tier and not going anywhere soon. I'm really not satisfied being mediocre anymore.

Did he really purchase the team in 2000? Wow. I totally thought it was somewhere in the late 90's. I seriously thought Cook died in like 95 or 97 and Snyder has had it since. I looked you were not off. The team was sold in 1999 so I guess Snyders first term may have been 2000.
Lets see, Norve, Robiskie, Schottenheimer, Spurrier, Gibbs, Zorn. lol. Thats continuity for ya. lol.
