He didn't block it, he just caught it and ran it in. |
Re: Bears Sign Brandon Lloyd to One-Year Deal
B Lloyd has talent. Alot of talent. He didn't get any playing time and our offense was not "reciever" friendly. I'm not placing blame on him or the coaches, but the fact is he really didn't play often here.

Re: Bears Sign Brandon Lloyd to One-Year Deal
He's a talented player, no question. He's a douchebag, no question. So he's a talented Douchebag. Can we drop it now?

Re: Bears Sign Brandon Lloyd to One-Year Deal
JoeRedskin, I find it interesting you still put all the blame on Lloyd. Before he comes to DC he's a productive player. When he leaves DC he's a productive player. Is the issue Lloyd or DC? I'm willing to bet DC. He may be a douchebag, I hear lots of players are douchebags. Unfortunately, it's part of the sport.
Fact is -- you need to get on the field to make plays. He rarely was on the field, and even rarer was he targeted for a pass. I'm not shocked that never seeing the field makes someone upset. Especially when they sign a large contract and expecting to get play time. Regardless of the reason -- Lloyd didn't get a chance here and I think we missed out on a talented guy. |
tj duckett got good yardage and a TD for seattle this week too... that doesn't mean he doesn't suck though. he, like lloyd, just needs equally sucky players around them to be comfortable enough to look good.
the type of player that can only look good when his team looks bad isn't the type of player i want around.
Well, this is not his first good game he has had. The Redskins blew it, with him. Every player always said he had alot of talent, they just did not work well with him. |
Re: Bears Sign Brandon Lloyd to One-Year Deal
Some players are just better fits on different teams. Lloyd wasn't exactly the best locker room guy and I think that had a lot to do with his troubles here with an old school type of coaching staff. Yeah the guy has talent but his worth ethic was questionable as well as his route running. I don't think either side is more to blame. It just didn't work out.

When he was in SF, he was the most targeted player on a dreadful offense, and caught roughly one third of balls thrown his way. That's pretty convincingly terrible. I agree that Lloyd is off to his most productive start of his career this year, and Chicago's offense may actually benefit from having a receiver that doesn't get separation, but will catch the ball anyway. Of course, for a majority of offenses, that leads to unnecessary interception risk. For Gibbs, that meant he couldn't play. I know you'll put that one on Gibbs, but for pretty much all coaches, that means he can't play. And if Lloyd is willing to play hard for Ron Turner and Ron Turner is willing to put his last life as an NFL coordinator on Brandon Lloyd as a starting WR, more power to them both. But he's just not very good, and even if the Bears can manage to salvage something out of his career, they probably could have been more productive if they used their efforts on a more promising talent, IMO. |

The Redskins put a huge premium on character, especialy under Gibbs. Just kind of sucks with all we did and gave for that idiot. The Bears signed him for nothing. |
Re: Bears Sign Brandon Lloyd to One-Year Deal
Quite frankly I don't see this as a big deal. I see this as a bad personnel decision by the Redskins. He didn't fit our system and our coaches thought he was lazy. A good scheme can help a player and I think that he is in a place where he can be productive in Chicago. I've moved on, this isn't an issue anymore. He's not a gamebreaker in Chicago, but he's a productive player who obviously has something to prove after his two seasons here. More power to him.

First, we didn't have an established and productive QB or passing attack in 2006 or 2007 (save for the last quarter of 2007). Second, Lloyd was not a better receiver than Moss or ARE. Third, he was a giant turd. He's had one good game. Let's see how he fares over the course of the season. In any case, I'm so glad we got rid of him. As some of you might recall, I blasted the guy repeatedly when he was here in DC and couldn't stand the sight of him in a Redskins uni. |

I still fault us more than I fault Lloyd. We knew he had character red-flags and we signed him anyway. And his character became an issue. No big shocker there. |

So it's OUR fault he dropped passes? OK. |
So you're saying Kyle Orton is better than Campbell and Collins? :D |

:D
Orton isn't any good, but Lloyd is their #1 WR and they don't have anyone decent as their #2 or #3. Also, Lloyd's sole great game was the Chicago-Tampa game, when Orton threw nearly 40 times. |
Re: Bears Sign Brandon Lloyd to One-Year Deal
you know i fault gibbs...he didnt give the man the ability to succeed in his offense..most wide outs are divas and have issues..its part of their menatility that they can catch anything or beat anyone.
