It seems that way, but I finally figured out (thanks to Wiki) where I'd heard the name Gene Parmesan before - Martin Mull played a PI with that name on a few episodes of Arrested Development.
He was always popping up in random disguises, much to everyone's delight. I think he's the newest incarnation of Titface.

Yeah, the April fools jokes were kinda funny at first (2 years ago), but it's a bit worn out at this point. I don't know, maybe the mods are still all rolling around, busting a gut at all of our expense, but I believe this dog and pony show jumped the shark with the common folk around March 2nd of 2006.

Things sure did run rampant this year, even if there was no low level involvement by the mods.
