That's a vapid post by JLC - there's not a single example in there of how Lloyd disrupted the locker room.

Look, I'm not saying Lloyd wasn't a bust - he obviously was. I just don't recall hearing [U]anything[/U] about him in the past year, which contradicts the assertion that he was a cancer on the locker room.

I can't believe I am sort of defending Lloyd. I just wouldn't lump him in the same tier as a Moss/TO/Henry who can single-handedly put a team in the dirt.

"They look at it like he's drowning - he's not totally drowned yet - and (OC) Ron Turner wanted to throw him a lifeline, but who knows if he'll use it."). [/B]Should Lloyd make the team he could earn a maximum of $605,000.

My take on this guy has been long established, but, I gotta say, [B]if he somehow matures a bit and maybe deals with some of his personality issues, I could actually see him having a decent year. Now, these are huge ifs, but if he gets on the field I think he can replace Berian as Chicago's downfield threat and makes plays in spurts[/B].

He will have every motivation in the world and will be playing for his football life. Then, of course, he may take that $12 million from Dan Snyder, build a recording studio in his basement and focus more on fashion and hip hop than football and totally check out. Have a weird hunch he does enough for the Bears to get himself a decent contract a year from now ... [B]then buyer beware to any team that actually empowers him again, cuz his troubles run deep.[/B]

Also kinda strange how both of the biggest of the 2005 offseason busts - Adam Archuleta and this guy - end up in Chicago on the cheap. Archuleta gave the Bears essentially nothing in 2007, and will be very interesting to see if Lloyd makes it this year. Chicago's off season workout plan begins in a few weeks, and I would assume he would report and at least get that $40,000 in his hands.

Okay, that's it for tonight. We'll do some breakdowns of every position on the roster next week and definitely check in tomorrow. Got my hands on some very, very interesting - and telling - figures on team spending and the cap that I think you'll want to check out. I found it somewhat mind blowing while culling the numbers from NFLPA and NFL Management Council sources.

Marvin Lewis, and Mike Brown get a free pass for bringing all these thugs. why? half of their roster has some kind of prior problems, but all had ability. that's one of coach Gibbs greatest assets. not bringing in " bad apples" no way do i want Chris Henry in Washington

Gibbs ran a pretty tight ship, outside of AA's leak to the media you really didn't hear much of anything out of Redskins Park during his second tenure.

However, there were several documented reports of Lloyd blowing up on coaches and teammates. He had a blowup with Saunders and remember the helmet slamming incident that got him suspended for a game?

Yeah, those are both in the link I posted above. Again, I'm not saying I want Lloyd back. I'm just saying he and Henry are different kinds of locker room cancers.

I do agree with that, but in the end they both end up having the same impact. You can't help a team by sitting on the bench whether it's due to legal issues or being a malcontent.

The kid allegedly provoked him by calling him something completely inappropriate (rhymes with "go figure"). But unfortunately for Chris Henry, he has been suspended before for his inability to show restraint and whether his actions were justified or not he was already on a very short leash.

I am so relieved that NOT ONE of the posts I have read yet regarding this story has any mention of wanting the Redskins to pick this guy up. I just like to caveat what I said about picking up Henry. I am more interested in picking up Pac Man, but would also consider Henry for incentive laden deals and a short leash. That way you can cut them without much of a penalty...

but the first concern is ensuring they are eligible to play. If both or either are suspended, then there isnt a reason to sign them.

Then again I still think Tank Johnson made an impact once he game back after his suspension for the Cowboys.

you dont want an entire team or unbehaved players breaking the law. But one or two that performs exceptionally to makeup for the off the field issues Im ok with. And I know I am the minority. I just think it wouldnt cause that much of a problem for our team.

And someoen made a comment to my posts about the difference between TO and Chad Johnson, and guys like Henry and Pac Man. Whoever it was is completely right, IMO, that theres a big difference between creating issues with the team and law. It almost warrants its own discussion on which is the lesser of the two evils. Most people here tend to say they want no part of either. My vote is whichever makes the team win when they are on the field...

Let me preface this by saying I have absolutely no dog in this fight, so this is not me speaking but….There are those who think he is STILL breaking laws left and right.

Again, I have no intention of discussing the merits of such a position but some may point out the irony in the “tiger (or Bengal) can change their stripes” analogy.

Floyd Reese was saying that Commisioner Goodell would go so far as docking team draft picks for signing troubled players that continued to have run ins with the law (after being given the proverbial second chance). I guess that was one of many reasons why we didn't sign Odell Thurman.

LMAO, background check? What does a Cowboy background check entail? Did he kill more then 5 people? Does he still have less then 3 strikes (theres a pun in that sentence)? Is he fast? Well he was waiting trial and even the Boys would not sign someone who may end up in jail. When his case was thrown out the Bangjails hoped on him before he could get arrested again.
