Is CNN broadcasting the Prices Right version of the election?
Do they really need 40,920,232,323 monitors and sound effects? They should just play plinko for electoral votes.
lol it's so ridiculous, I love to just switch around to see what toys each network has. I miss Tim Russert with his white board. |
re: Election Day Thread 2008
Good lord! This won't even be close.

re: Election Day Thread 2008
I just want to tell you how I'm feeling...gonna make you understand!
|
re: Election Day Thread 2008
CNN is playing it pretty safe with their predictions. Is that they don't want a repeat of past wrong conclusions or is it that they just want to keep people watching for longer?

No idea. I'm watching MSNBC but looking at the CNN map. And CNN seems to wait an awfully long time to shade in their states. MSNBC calls everything pretty quickly. |

I didn't wanna be premature but yeah, McCain would almost need a miracle to somehow pull this off. |
re: Election Day Thread 2008
obama has narrowed the gap in VA. that's surprising.

If I'm not mistaken it was mostly the southern, less populated precincts that reported early. Obama was expected to close the gap as they counted votes from the communist sections of the state. |

looking to kill some time?
this is pretty cool: inquotes |
re: Election Day Thread 2008
VA looks like it's gonna go to Obama. 26% if Fairfax county reported and most of the red counties stand at almost 100%.

re: Election Day Thread 2008
Anyone watching CNN? Will.I.Am via Hologram...seriously. WTF?
|
re: Election Day Thread 2008
I'm at work right now so I can't watch TV, but it seems like it's pretty much over right? Since Obama won Ohio and doesn't appear to be losing any of the states Kerry carried in 04, is there any scenario in which McCain could still win? Even if Florida, VA, NC, and NV all go red, it seems McCain would still be down. Are they talking about this?

It looks like first generation tech...comparing it to star trek / star wars tech is sacrilege. |
re: Election Day Thread 2008
McCain still could win, but I doubt it. Obama more or less has it once California comes in.

pretty much....all he needs to do is sweep the pacific states to clinch 270. |
re: Election Day Thread 2008
VA called for Obama. Game Over!
BTW, did they count all absentee ballots? |
re: Election Day Thread 2008
CNN is calling Obama the winner!!
|
re: Election Day Thread 2008
Everyone is calling it.
|
re: Election Day Thread 2008
Congratulations to Barack Obama for a remarkable achievement, your work is just beginning now. And thank you to John McCain for your decades of service to this country.

And the fat lady is singing, and its beeeeeautiful.

re: Election Day Thread 2008
I don't know how everyone feels but it's kind an emotional moment for me. Regardless of what you think about Obama it can not be denied that this is a land mark day in American history. We have come a long way!

re: Election Day Thread 2008
A historical day in US history.
YES WE CAN! |
re: Election Day Thread 2008
Wow, what a day. This is an unbelievable feeling.
|
re: Election Day Thread 2008
As a young Black female, I'm proud I can see this day. I'm even more proud that my 89 year old grandmother is alive to see it too.
Born in 1919, I believe she deserves to see this day more than anything. Such a big day for America. |
re: Election Day Thread 2008
It's over. Obama won pretty convincingly.
|
re: Election Day Thread 2008
It's a pretty cool moment in history to be witnessing
|
re: Election Day Thread 2008
I hope he will govern with wisdom.
It's a pretty cool moment in history to be witnessing
I remember sitting through US history classes in high school thinking that it must have been amazing to be able to witness those hugely important moments in American history.
Thinking back to the 2000 election and that mess during my freshman year of college, 9/11, the war in Iraq, and everything else up until this day its amazing to think that I am seeing some of the most important moments in this country's history unfold right before my eyes. Amazing! |

Excellent concession speech by McCain.

re: Election Day Thread 2008
That's McCain talking, not the McCain campaign. Big difference. I can't imagine the emotions going through his and Obama's heads right now. And their families.

There such a huge difference. Likability factor shoots up through the roof when he is himself. |

Exactly I was really happy to see the McCain I remember. I was glad he shut up some of those nutjobs in the crowd. God I hate the way the republicans are going, and I really hope it tilts back towards more towards the center and I would vote for them. |
re: Election Day Thread 2008
CNN is showing mad people in front of the white house...I wonder how Bush feels about that.
