Re: Cowboys cut T.O.
A healthy Marvin Harrison is going to demand money, and T.O. is just f'ing crazy. I agree JoeRedskin, I would sign Holt in a heartbeat at the right price. He'd be a good teacher for Kelly and Thomas.
|
Re: Cowboys cut T.O.
I'd sign Holt in a heartbeat. Yes, he clearly on his downside but he's the kinda of pro who could show Thomas and Kelly what it takes to succeed.
Not sure how he would fit in b/c I am pretty sure he wouldn't want to be the No. 4 receiver.
If Holt is released, he'll be a Carolina Panther. He's been wanting to play there for years. If Holt came, he would be our #2. His numbers dropped a little last year, but he still had almost 800yards on a team whose offense was just horrible. i'd love to have him here, but i think the odds are 1000-1 that he signs with the Panthers or stays with the Rams. |
Re: Cowboys cut T.O.
On the other hand, maybe the Cowboys sign Marvin Harrison as a replacement for TO.
|
Re: Cowboys cut T.O.
Why not sign Marvin Harrison, instead of T.O.? What's the difference? One is a certified headcase, the other is the quiet assassin. If we haven't signed Marvin Harrison by now why would we sign TO?
Cause if I'm not mistaken Harrison is like 5-11 which puts him right in company or close to it with Moss and El. We need an elite tall WR with some weight behind him not a small WR like we already have. I thought of Harrison also until I looked at his size and weight. I also looked at Holt but I thought he got picked back up by SL. He's also very old. |

The difference is Marvin Harrison needs to be delivered the ball in a relatively small window compared to Terrell. I like Marvin more as a man, but not as a player. Especially not as a player with Jason Campbell throwing him the ball. Terrell makes plays. Marvin helped Peyton finish plays. |
Re: Cowboys cut T.O.
I think (and hope) that the Redskins learned about having a dive/headcase WR when Lloyd was here.

This has definitely not help with his antics. Maybe Darth Hoody will pretend he has something to prove and take T.O., I mean Randy Moss has worked out ok for them. |

Supposedly he called Jeff Garcia a HOMO and yet he went to play with Romo. |

Cowherd just announced that a high ranking Redskins official said that they have NO interest in Owens.
Thank you Jebus! |

Thank you Jebus!
and....your going to believe Cowturd? As often wrong as he is? Ok. I doubt the Skins would pick him up cause of his baggage and Hall had issues with him. but when the people who like to spread rumors got this one rolling, I was not going to say "not going to happen." I mean look at the Haynesworth deal. A lot of people said no way it happens cause he wanted too much money. :) Again it doesn't hurt my feelings if the teams say "Pass." CJ was a different story though. I like Ocho Cincho. lol. If nothing else he's funny. |

Thank you Jebus!
I'd love to believe it, but you just sourced one of the biggest idiots in sports media who is ALWAYS wrong about our team. I stopped listening to him because of how wrong he is whenever he brings up the Skins on his show...and because I can't stand him personally. |
Re: Cowboys cut T.O.
OK, Mort says no.
I trust him a little more than Cowturd.
After calling around the league, ESPN's Chris Mortensen says the Redskins, Vikings, and Ravens are all very unlikely to show interest in Terrell Owens. Mort was definitive with the Redskins, saying "No way." Owens clashed with Vikings coach Brad Childress in Philly, and Ravens coach John Harbaugh was there as well. Both saw how divisive Owens could be up close, and reportedly want no part of him. With early reports suggesting the New York teams as unlikely landing spots, Oakland looks like the most logical destination.
Terrell Owens Oakland...I called it in post #46. :) |

Philly, New Jersey Giants and Dallas fans would all wish him on us. Heck, so would San Fran too probably. |

HELL NO to BO! No CANCER needed!
Buster..was that you..? TO crush? |
Re: Cowboys cut T.O.
I have a feeling that NE will take a look at him. They just lost their #3 wr and they have the type of team and locker room that can handle him. If they don't pick up Owens I'd expect them to look at Harrison or Holt if he is released.

Re: Cowboys cut T.O.
This should have been a public poll.
I bet the 2 Yes votes are Dallas fans. |

Re: Cowboys cut T.O.
ha, lots of hate for TO here. That's good he deserves it. What a waste of oxygen that guy is. I'd be interested to see him on the Pats though. I hope he goes to the giants though so he can destroy their locker room...john daily style.

Re: Cowboys cut T.O.
Alright since a handful of people, save 44 and Huntz, seem to have ignored the Hall-Owens connection I guess I have to bring it up again.

After the game Hall said he didn't respect the guy as a man and to this day T.O. hasn't appoligized, at least to the publics knowledge, directly to D. Hall. Sure he appologized to the public but never to D. Hall man to man. "After Terrell Owens spit in DeAngelo Hall's face in Saturday night's game, Hall insisted he'd have nothing to do with the Dallas receiver." So let me say this again, to everyone here playing fantasy football. The Redskins will not sign Owens while they have Hall signed to a big contract. |

Yea, your totally right, no different then a Redskin WR kicking the crap out of a Redskin RB and playing together for several seasons. Just a feeling but I bet if, and I say if, the team talked with Hall and there was an apology made people would look the other way and sign him. I don't think Snyder not being interested in T.O. has anything to do with Hall. I just wouldn't put all my faith in Cowturds report that he spoke with a team official and they aren't interested in T.O. Cerrato has told many people in the past including on Radio that he was not interested in a player and got them. The most recent was Taylor. |
Yea, your totally right, no different then a Redskin WR kicking the crap out of a Redskin RB and playing together for several seasons.
Thats different. They were both under contract, sizeable contracts at that, during the time in question. This situation would be more akin to the Panthers bringing in Westbrook during Davis' time in Carolina. You don't bring someone in from the outside that's going to cause a huge problem right from the get go. Thats just asking for trouble. Is reconciliation possible, sure. Still it's not worth the trouble for as Vinny puts it a receiver who's now three years older since they weren't interested in him. |
Re: Cowboys cut T.O.
I think the only places where Owens could go and where he wouuld behave is New England or Indy. Manning and Brady demand respect.
|
Re: Cowboys cut T.O.
This is exactly the media attention the DS marketing machine loves. In his mind, No press is bad press.
Owens and the Redskins taking on the Cowboys at their new home opening game of the year. If the Redskins sign Owens, They can pretty much guarantee atleast 4 prime time games this year. I'm going to kill myself if that happens... |
Re: Cowboys cut T.O.
It's funny how many teams (including a few that could use the help at WR) are coming out and flat out saying "no thanks." Ravens, 49ers, Falcons, Redskins, Browns, Vikings... I imagine that list will continue to grow.
If there is any speculation or desire by our FO to sign another WR (and I don't think there is, but IF), how about Torry Holt? Great locker room guy, durable, good mileage left at age 32, fantastic route runner.... |
Re: Cowboys cut T.O.
I really hope there will never be a person like TO in DC. It would tarnish everything this franchise is based on - honor and tradition. The End.
