Cincy is too crowded with #85, Owens, Bryant, Coles...

Maybe Dallas if Dez continues to get hurt?
The New York Post reports that Plaxico Burress is expected to be released from prison within "two or three weeks" for good behavior.
The Post cites a "person who has visited Burress at the Oneida Correctional Facility in Rome," so we'd take the report with a grain of salt. He's expected to join a work release program upon leaving prison. Though it remains unclear when Plax will be permitted to return to the NFL, Giants GM Jerry Reese said his club will "definitely investigate" a potential re-signing. Don't hold your breath on a quick signing, though. The Giants already have a deep receiving corps, and Plax doesn't play special teams. We still consider him a longshot to play in 2010.

Nicks = Injured
Hixon = Injured
Manningham = Injured

If the season started today, they'd be playing with Steve Smith (wrong one), Sinorice Moss (wrong Moss), Tim Brown (definitely wrong one), Derek Hagan, Duke Calhoun, Ramses Barden and Victor Cruz.

Who?

Good for Plax. I hope he gets out and learned his lesson. Now the Giants do not have a deep wr corps. They've got some guys that they've invested high draft picks...Manningham and Nicks but neither has done anything. Also what has Sinorace Moss done in the 4 years he's been there? Nothing. I guess their most productive guy is Smith, good wr but not a true #1. If I were NY I would look into this and see if he's got anything in the tank.

From BBI............

"
Whew! Nicks OK: WR Hakeem Nicks was sent to New York yesterday to undergo a second MRI and exam on his injured right knee. After both, the Giants issued the following statement:
“Wide receiver Hakeem Nicks hyperextended his right knee at the end of yesterday afternoon’s practice. Nicks underwent an MRI in Albany last night and another at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in Manhattan this morning. He was examined by team physician Dr. Russell Warren at HSS. The tests and exam showed nothing out of the ordinary with Nicks’ knee. Nicks, who is currently practicing once a day as he comes back from offseason toe surgery, could possibly return to the practice field as early as (Thursday).”
Giants Not Interested in Plax: According to The Star-Ledger, an unidentified team official told the paper that the Giants are not currently interested in re-signing WR Plaxico Burress when he is released from prison."

Our WRs must be really terrible then, because the Giants have some nice young WRs who have already completely outshined our guys.

Manningham last year had 57-822-5, and Nicks had 47-790-6.

Don't tell me you wouldn't take that in a heartbeat over our crew.
Washington also is expected to be looking for a receiver. But according to Rosenhaus, Burress already is square on the radar of two NFL teams.
He could be our Vick. Plus I wouldn't mind any excuse that allows us to draft players in the trenches rather then using it on band aid skill players. Then again if VJax is a free agent the Skins will probably get him.

Re: Giants release Burress

I'd bring him in, especially because I'd rather use our limited draft picks on more o-line or a better position of need. We can bring in skill position players through free agency, like a cheap running back or a decent wideout.

LOL...he's not going to Washington.

aceinthehouse 11-29-2010 07:31 AM

Re: Giants release Burress

We should bring him in...
Guy catches super bowl winning passes and doesn't drop huge balls in big games like Santana Moss...
and he's a true #1 WR.

Just load our team with studs in the off season.
Sign Plaxico Burress (probably get him cheap) 6'5" 233
Sign Vincent Jackson 6'5" 230
Good #1/#2 Combo

Use Santana Moss as the #3 Slot WR or trade his ass for picks,if he's worth anything.
Keep Armstrong and Banks as they are young and Banks is a beast.

Then take a flyer on a WR in later part of the draft like 6th or 7th round.
(I'm tired of having the "little kiss" midgets on this team!) grr

Draft O-line and D-line in draft.

Re: Redskins
He's an AMAZING talent...there will be plenty of "takers"...and I'm willing to put a cool $100 on the fact that BOTH the Cowboys and Snyder / Cerrato have made a call to his agent...even though Snyderato would deny it.

I see him as a lesser Terrell Owens. Too many problems to take. The Skins have enough to deal with without getting a guy that HATES to practice and "somehow" manages to shoot himself in the leg!

I am curious, is he ACTUALLY going to jail for sure? If so, how long?
I doubt Dallas will try to get him, they already have a pretty good WR corp. On the other hand we need him because we've failed to address the hole at num. 1 WR spot. We blew the chance to land T.O. and VJ. Tana needs to be where he belongs, at the num. 2 spot.

So your planning two years out. Remember it took MV one full year to get back up to speed. Last year Vick looked done.

Still Scary though how good he is this year..

If I was the Cardinals no way would I let him walk away clean and take his talents to South Beach or somewhere else. I would at least franchise him, which will probably still be around after the next CBA.

I thought he signed contract extension a while ago? I think the only way for Fitzgerald to change teams is to convince Cardinals to trade him.. I'm pretty sure Cardinals will not trade him unless they get best offer that they could not turn down.

If you could kidnap the younger more football minded Bidwell for a few hours and offer the senior Bidwell a couple of thousand bucks you get Fitzgerald for pennies on the dollar.

It isn't our money. This is about the biggest no brainer out there. He is a can't miss worth every penny acquisition. No off-field issues either.

If they think he has any ball left in him, Plax could get an incentive laden offer but there is no reason to expect him to mirror Vick's success.
