Re: Predict this year's surprise cut
ladell betts
does anyone think FAs like marvin harrsion, marcus washington, and derrick brooks will be picked up before camp is over? (not by us necessarily) but why not invite them to camp and see what kind of shape they're in. i don't get it, they'll probably sign tiny deals IF they get signed at all. VERY unlikely, i know, but brooks and fletcher in the same (line)backfield? even as spot relief, no one behind london has top notch instincts/football smarts on our defense, and brooks does. look what keenan mccardell did for us a couple years ago, came in and didn't drop balls. marvin would do the same, instill some confidence in jason, move the chains. marcus, ehh, vet minimum why not? i'm sorry if i posted this in the wrong thread, i couldn't find an appropriate one. - kyle |
Re: Predict this year's surprise cut
I am surprised Brooks hasn't gotten a look from anyone yet.
As for Harrison, have you seen the news lately? |

This one is realistic. Smoot is too. I think Blache likes Griffin a lot more though. I hope both survive the axe. Anyone know what the cap hit would be to cut griff? If they feel they can sign Monte & Gholston, I could see Griff getting cut. |
Re: Predict this year's surprise cut
Not sure how Griff getting cut would be realistic at all. He's easily our 2nd best DT now and should be very effective playing with AH.

Nice. Are you sure they wouldn't rename it the "Shoot and Run"? Pacman could play the slot receiver. |
Re: Predict this year's surprise cut
I like the guy, but I do think Yoder's time has come. And I agree that he will be cut to make room for Aldridge. Sorry Todd, but...

I wouldn't be surprised if Yoder was cut, don't think many others would either. If Aldridge takes one of the 3 rb slots, then I'd be surprised. |
Re: Predict this year's surprise cut
If Todd Collins got cut, that would surprise me a lot.
|
Re: Predict this year's surprise cut
If Bridges shows he can lead block on the sweep (does he have the speed?), I think
Thomas is gone, or at best a back up. |

If Todd Collins got cut, that would make me happy a lot. :D Another pick: Suisham is cut without having another kicker on the roster. He'll miss a few PATs and kick a few off OoB during preseason games and Zorn will rage and just tell him to leave. Of course, this really would not be a huge surprise. |
Re: Predict this year's surprise cut
If it's between Suisham or some guy off the street, might as well stick with Suisham.
Personally I think he will rebound this year. |

Re: Predict this year's surprise cut
if i worked out as often as he did, i think i could beat him out. pesky ft job always gets in the way though

Re: Predict this year's surprise cut
Cartwright or Collins. Leaning to Collins. t Collins salary, the only way I see him sticking is if the Redskins simply don't have faith in the young QB, Colt Brennan and Chase Daniels, to takeover in event of an injury.

No chance they go into the season with Colt and Chase. They'll keep Colt and Todd. Collins is the game-day backup and Colt is the big picture backup. If Campbell goes down for any length of time then Colt gets the reigns but on game-day Todd jumps in. |

Personally I think he will rebound this year.
I think this is Suisham's make or break year. He is capable of being a decent NFL kicker. He has the accuracy and seems to have to drive to do it. But he's got to nail the consistency down. |

From the sound of things TC15 was looking good yesterday too, hitting guys in stride and getting the ball out quickly. Colt meanwhile didn't get a ton of work and was a little off at first but settled down eventually. I too think a veteran has to be in the mix. Going with Pineapple Jesus as your primary backup is just too risky. |
